Hello,
I first read the last 4-month mail traffic about using the prism2 in ad-hoc or
AP mode.
My situation:
I have bought the i-gate 11M prism2 product from Siemens. The Driver is up and
running (Thank You David), but no connections to other Clients are possible at
all.
Now I am a little bit confused in configuring the wlan-ng.opts file to solve my
connection problems:
1.Option: It (mails) is said that the ad-hoc mode is not yet supported by the
wlan-ng driver.
2.Option: You can use the AP mode because the wlan-ng-driver supports it
perfectly. But this works only when you have got the AP-firmware (BTW I didn't
find that fact in the wlan-ng docs :-),
which you have to download prior to the prism2 card. (Where can I get it?)
So unfortunatly, I don't have the AP firmware and in case I got it I have
another problem. There is
no utility to download it? Right?
Therfore: how can I use the wlan-ng driver then? I don't have any externel AP
harware at all, and I don't want to buy any (costs US 700$) it is too expensive
for me.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Rainer
