Hi Folks,
I've put a pre5 version of 0.1.8 on the web site at
http://www.linux-wlan.com/linux-wlan-ng-0.1.8-pre5.tar.gz . It has been
lightly tested on 2.2.13, 2.2.18, and 2.4.2 but still needs some shaking
out. The reason its -pre5 is because of some code I sent out to patch
submitters so they could look at how their patches were integrated.
Look at the CHANGES file for a mostly complete list of updates.
The point of this release is to get some of the accumulated patches rolled
out, particularly to the patch contributors. This is very Beta code.
One note: David Hsu of Eumitcom provided some code to support the PLX
based PCI adapters. Unfortuntely, I haven't gotten it to work quite yet.
I'm getting some rather odd unresolved externals for the modules. I think
I'm doing something wrong with regard to modversions. Additionally, we'll
need startup scripts and the build scripts/Makefiles need to be modified
to _not_ require pcmcia-cs when all you want to build is PCI.
For the adventerous, bang on it. For the others, if you have a setup that
works, leave it alone for now.
I'll be in-transit to the 802.11 meeting tomorrow. I should be there and
checking my mail on Monday. Hopefully you folks will see a thing or two I
missed and we can roll out a real release next week.
Best Regards,
-Mark
PS: AVS is mostly moved into our new facility. All of my stuff is mostly
in boxes, but at least it's in the right place. ;-)
PS2: The ftp site should be back up on Monday or Tuesday. The new address
will be ftp.linux-wlan.org. Additionally, we're moving the
www.linux-wlan.org domain to point directly to the linux-wlan page.
