I am having a few difficulties configuring this on a SUSE 7.2 system with the
2.4.7 kernel. Pcsc-lite (1.03) is compiled with usb enabled and the device is
visible on the usb bus (lsusb) and via pcsc_scan (reader 0).

    # pcsc_scan output
    PC/SC device scanner V 1.0.3 (c) 2001, Ludovic Rousseau <ludovic.rousseaufree.fr>
    PC/SC lite version: 1.0.1 0: GemPC430 0 0
    Sat Dec 15 14:23:24 2001 Reader 0 (GemPC430 0 0)
    Card state: State has changed,
    Card inserted, ATR: 3B 16 94 81 10 06 01 81 2F

The device does not respond when accessed via the utilities such as the
smartcard-login netaccountadd: giving the following error.

    # DEBUG OUTPUT from netaccountadd -uid rpiper
    uid: rpiper

    CA Dir: /Root_CA

The smartcard netlogin package works quite well with the Schlumberger 72 serial
reader, so I suspect this is simply a problem with the way I have configured
the USB reader. (I have left reader.conf empty when using the USB device)

I would be grateful for any suggestions, or advice about how to debug this.

    thanks

    Richard
