Well, I am not going to define business politic for university :-)
Still, something is strange for me:
If you would say that it MUST be open-source - I could understand it, it may be some kind of policy.
If it would be spoken about software-only solution and you would say that it MUST be free - I understand it: the difference is whether you pay money or not.
But if you speak about hardware product - you anyway pay for it, since there is hardware. What is the difference: to pay $X for token and $Y for license or $(X+Y) for token. The question is whether the product is OK for you and whether the price is acceptable for you. I mean, if you ask for a price and get some number, do you really care how exactly the price built?
Do I miss something?
