Some remarks:
1. the users shall not have to run bootstrap
The best way to generate a .tar.gz is to use "make distcheck"
2. use AM_MAINTAINER_MODE in configure.in so that the users do not
have to have autotools installed. Use ./configure
--enable-maintainer-mode to have the old behavior
3. the file src/scconf/Makefile.mak is not distributed but is
referenced in src/scconf/Makefile.am (make distcheck fails)
4. you should not install the *.la and *.a files in
/usr/lib/pam_pkcs11/ but only the *.so files (but maybe I miss
something here)

I attach a patch with my modification.

Now I can compile and install it I will try to use it :-)
