A card does not become by magic ready for PKI. There must be an
application isntalled on the card which makes the card side stuff
(cryptography) working. If the support said, that the card does not
support PKI, this could mean that, the chip does not support
cryptography, cannot execute programs ... Or this question is over the
supports head. Usually the support people have not the knowledge and are
not paid well. Don't expect correct and good answers.
Back to this application. In the case of MuscleCard this is the CardEdge
Java Card Applet. So you need a Java Card and a proframm to install it.
Is you card a Java Card? If not you have to implement the CardEdge by
your own. That's a piece of cake. Maybe some minutes up to a few weeks.
Google for CardEdge Specification or look at the MuscleCard website.
