Unless Apple changed the code in pcscd PCSCLITE_ENHANCED_MESSAGING is
only used at compilation.

So if the pcsclite.h file does not define PCSCLITE_ENHANCED_MESSAGING
I would be very suprised if pcscd really supports large APDU. What
have to done to check the support of large APDU?
