I'm using the following
Dell D800
FC5 w/ Kernel 2.6.17
Packages from Yum:
ccid.i386 1.0.1-1.fc5 installed
pcsc-lite.i386 1.3.1-1.fc5 installed
pcsc-lite-devel.i386 1.3.1-1.fc5 installed
pcsc-lite-libs.i386 1.3.1-1.fc5 installed
O2Micro 2.0.3 and patched with the two patch files from this thread
Compiling the kernel module completed without any problems.
Instead of overwriting /etc/reader.conf, I created an o2micro.conf file for
/etc/reader.conf.d/ and then ran /usr/sbin/update-reader.conf
Using modprobe ozscrlx also completed without error.
However when I started up pcscd, a segfault occurred and a large kernel
stack
trace in syslog.
Here's additional information output.
Device node:
[root
ericandry pcmcia]# ls -l /dev/o*
crw-rw-r-- 1 root tty 123, 0 Aug 6 22:07 /dev/ozscrlx
Output from pcscd -a -d -f:
[root
ericandry pcmcia]# pcscd -a -d -f
pcscdaemon.c:259:main() pcscd set to foreground with debug send to stderr
pcscdaemon.c:508:clean_temp_files() Cannot unlink /var/run/pcscd.comm: No
such file or directory
readerfactory.c:1095:RFInitializeReader() Attempting startup of O2Micro
SmartCardBus Reader 00 00.
readerfactory.c:933:RFBindFunctions() Loading IFD Handler 2.0
Segmentation fault
Anyone else using similar specs and working?
What should I start looking at first?
I tried to use the configure-debug but the compiler complained about an
unknown method printk
assuming this is a method for writing to syslog for debugging?
I'm not a kernel hacker but I am versed Java and have worked with a few
other languages
but not hard core C/C++ programmer. I'll first check the makefiles and the
configure
script to see that the paths are proper so I can build a debug module.
Thanks in advance for advice or suggestions.
