Besides the code quality and lacking conformance to latest Linux
subsystem changes, my major concern is that too much stuff is inside the
driver instead of being part of the user space library. So the current
idea for o2scr 2.x is to adopt significant parts of libtowitoko and
tweak the kernel side as long as it reasonably fits to this (or an
adopted) low-level interface. The result should be a kernel driver that
is much smaller (all synchronous protocol stuff would be gone e.g.) and
thus easier to merge. At the same time you gain more understanding about
what is really needed and what is cruft in the current driver.

If you have time & hardware & motivation, you are welcome to join this
effort, even by "just" testing and reporting issues!
