Hello,
I propose you to test a beta version of pcsc-lite. This version
provides a new way to detect USB reader connection and disconnection
using HAL [1] (and dbus, udev, etc.)
libhal is now the default library used instead of libusb. This will
avoid an active polling loop in pcscd (bad design).
I would like you to test this beta version (available at [2]) and
report bugs and problems.
It looks like libhal is only available for Linux but I may be wrong.
If you use a non-Linux system I am also interested in your feedback.
Two other active polling loops are still present inside pcsc-lite and
are on the road map for removal.
Thanks for your help
