I have read the Note [2] alluding to the Reader itself being defective. I am trying to determine if in fact this is the case since I just purchased this reader recently (less than 1 month ago). The fact that the reader works with the same application (JSmartCardExplorer) without any Crashes in a Windows XP environment points me perhaps in a different direction.
