This sounds like a known issue regarding Windows network configuration.
Probably you find in the archive a lot of information.
A quick solution was
- use the IP-address instead of the name, or
- add the host name to <within the windows install dir>/etc/hosts

There is none available. We offer JDBC and ODBC (and of course a precompiler)
as interfaces. Beside this, the new basis interface SQLDBC might be
interesting for you, if you intend to implement an OLEDB driver for yourself,
or if you want to use a powerful state of the art C++ MaxDB-Interface.
Also, somebody of the list wanted to start a native .Net driver, but I don't
know the status of this development.
