Hello Alexander,

Ok, sorry,
   MaxDB 7.5.00.08
   on Linux RedHat 8.0
   Client: SQL Studio 7.5

I do:

   CREATE TABLE DATI_BINARI (
      ID VARCHAR(48) NOT NULL,
      DATO LONG BYTE,
      PRIMARY KEY(ID)
    )
    --

and:

    insert into DATI_BINARI (ID,DATO) VALUES ('one', X'656A3C')

I have the error:
    ---- Error -------------------------------
Auto Commit: On, SQL Mode: Internal, Isolation Level: Committed
Error in assignment;-8004 POS(53) Constant must be compatible with
column type and length.

    insert into DATI_BINARI (ID,DATO) VALUES ('one', X'656A3C')

Why?

Tnks,
Regards

Mes
