Hello Jürgen,

it seems your Backint for Oracle can not restore a file backed up on another machine, because it declares "#NOTFOUND I:\pipe\Stage1.0" for the first temporary file file to be restored.

Please contact your arcserve support to find out what must/can be done.

I am using SapDB 7.3 on windows 2000 server as productive and shadow database.

To backup the databases we use backint for oracle and arcserve software to write the pipes to tape. In this case everything works well.

I have problems by restoring the productive backup from tape to the shadow database machine.

I have made the following steps:

Copy the files backuphistorysdb, dbm.knl and dbm.ebf from the productive machine to the shadow machine.

Change Database entries in the file backuphistorysdb and dbm.ebf because the database name is not the same.

Db_cold

Util_connect <user>,<password>

Util_execute init config

Backup_ext_ids_get <medium>

Backup_ext_ids_listnext

Backup_ext_ids_forget

Backup_restore "BACKDATP" DATA EBID "SDB SAP_050711163240 \\.\PIPE\backdatp"

The file backint4sapdb.out shows the following entries:

- is it possible to restore an external backup from an other machine
