Thanks for the replies and sorry for the limited info.

FYI, I am running FW1 ver 4.1 on NT 4.0 SP4. I am logged in as administrator. fwm is running. All services are also working. The IP address is proper. But I just cannot open the Policy editor. There are no events in the NT Event Viewer except one that says "XXX child is exiting". I am unable to find any reference to this error. I tried faqs on phoneboy, checkpoint etc. But no luck.

Hi!

I am currently using a Eval lic which is good for another 20 days.
Everything works fine; users can connect to the internet, smtp works fine,
but i just cannot start policy editor. I need to add some rule to my current
rule base but am unable to do so as the policy editor is not running.

When I start the policy editor or log viewer on fw1 4.1, i get this message
that says "cannot connect to server".

Pls help me, the situation is desparate.
