    As far as I remember, the last time this was brought up David O'Brien
    objected - in his role of binutils/gcc maintainer, he said that he
    did not really see a need for additional FreeBSD-specific modifications
    of the binutils and gcc code, which he would have to deal with as
    he imported each new version.
