The analysis can be retrieved using the standard PIM
retrival tools. The analysis explains the HPMC from both
the CPU's and the IO/Memory Controller's perspective.
- HPMC handler now correctly fills in the System
Requester Address.
- Fixed PIM dump to contain correct responder path if
available.
- When the CPU times out trying to talk to memory
(Timeout HPMC), the address 0xfffffffffed10200 is
logged in the System Responder Address rather than
0xfffffffffed10000.

rope_debug register fails
- Change HPA selected routine for PCI devices to use
first memory BAR whether it is prefetchable or not.
BCH
- The "IN SC" command has been added, to print system
configuration.
- The "IN IO" command prints "(no firmware driver)"
for plug-in cards for which IODC could not be found
(possibly because the card is not supported by firmware
for boot/console/keyboard use).
LCD
- Added LCD-only diagnostic chassis codes.
- 7000 LCD messages no longer have embedded spaces
when running ODE MEMTEST
- Three LCD chassis code English strings now say

single DIMM on J7000
HPMC/TRAPS/PIM
- Memory Error Log information is reported in PIM for HPMC
- All parts of PIM are cleared when they should be
- The CPU State word in TOC PIM is valid
- When a system HPMCs while running Unix, it will
complete the dump to disk successfully even if the
system had a previous HPMC and it was not rebooted
BCH
- "CO LC" command can now be used to manually set
full- or half-duplex LAN
- "SESCSI" added as alias for "SCSI", for backward
compatibility
USB KEYBOARD
- USB supports a PS2 keybord connected to USBtoPS2
converter cable
- Fixes a problem that caused a call to USB IODC
Entry init to cause HPMC after the DST WDIAG test was
executed.
- Retries the input device while in BCH, offering a
limited USB hot-swap and recovery from accidental
disconnection of keyboard
NOTE: This functionality is only available while the
system is in BCH.
- Control keystrokes (^A to ^Z) are now reported.
SERIAL (RS232) CONSOLE
- Shows serial console baud rate on LCD, unless it is
the standard 9600 baud
- Fixed problem that stopped system if serial console
user tried to stop autoboot too early
FANS
- Multiple fan failures now produce multiple chassis codes
- fans now run quieter in B1000/C3000
MISCELLANEOUS
- Failing Real Time Clock module now generates a WARNing
visible at BCH
- The LIF volume has a new CONFIGDATA file that understands
J5k/7k and B1k/C3k HVersions
- The LIF volume has a larger pad file at the end, to
improve updating from SCSI CD-ROM drives
- Fixed bug that prohibited booting Recovery Tape from
DSS (SCSI) tape drive
- Fixed two bugs that could cause unintentional
modification to the Flash ROM content
- Flash ROM is always checksummed now, independent of the
Fastboot flag

* * * * * * SIDE AFFECTS FROM UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * CREATING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE TAPE * * * * * * * *
Step 1. Verify the checksum of the file ".frm" using
the "sum" command. Results of the command should be
equal to the "sum" value as documented in the header
of this document.
Step 2. Use the "dd" command to copy the file "CBCJ0048.frm"
to tape, as follows:
dd if=CBCJ0048.frm of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k
^^^^^^^^^^^
(device path dependent)
NOTE: Blocksize (bs) must be = 2k
* * * * * * * IDENTIFY CURRENT VERSION OF FIRMWARE * * * * * * *
Prior to performing the firmware update, verify the current
version of your firmware, using the following steps:
Step 1. Re-boot your system and do the following:
A. Interrupt the boot process and from the BOOT ADMIN
prompt, type <information> and press [return].
B. Identify your firmware revision. The last 2 digits
in the patch name indicate the revision. In this
case, 4.8 is the revision. If the revision on your
system is equal to or higher than 4.8, do not proceed
with the update.
* * * * * * * * * * FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE * * * * * * * * * *
Step 1: Install the tape you have just created into your tape
drive.
Step 2. Shutdown your system via the power switch and power back
on, or execute the reboot command resetting your system.
Step 3. When the display reads "Searching for a system to boot"
press [escape]. At the BOOT ADMIN prompt, type
<search> and press [enter] or [return] to identify
the tape device path.
Step 4. Boot from the appropriate boot path. (You must boot
from the device that contains the firmware update tape.)
NOTE: This process is automatic and requires no interaction
until directed to do so. Please do not Interrupt the
process.
NOTE: The load process will take about 2 minutes.
Step 5. A warning message will be issued, followed by
"Continue ([y]/n)? Enter <y> and press [enter] or
[return] if you wish to continue. Be sure the image
on the tape is a newer version than that on your system
before proceeding.
NOTE: FROM THIS POINT FORWARD, THIS PROCESS CANNOT
BE INTERRUPTED UNTIL COMPLETION. INTERRUPTING
THIS PROCESS WILL CAUSE YOUR SYSTEM TO BE
INOPERATIVE.
NOTE: DURING THE EXECUTION OF THIS UPDATE, THE FIRMWARE FONTS
FILE WILL BE RE-WRITTEN. IF THESE ARE NEW FONTS, YOU
WILL NOT SEE ANY TEXT WRITTEN TO THE SCREEN AFTER THE
MESSAGE;
You will see 2 carriage returns and 2 line feeds and
then the display will remain the same. In about 20
seconds the system will automatically re-boot. If it
doesn't, the update has failed. Attempt to run the
update again from Step 2. If it still fails, or you
cannot get to the boot admin prompt, call your HP
Service Representative.
The system will continue the normal boot process from the default
primary path.
