cut and paste correctly. These problems
are now fixed with this patch.

problem with XCreateFontSet() with
partially-specified XLFD names.

1. Erroneous handling of Japanese fonts.
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_13906:

2. XCreateFontSet() in Japanese locale with fontname
of jpn8x18 fails.
Resolution:
Fixed case in XCreateFontSet() for this font.
3. R6: XwcTextListToTextProperty fails for buffer >1024
in ja_JP.SJIS.
Resolution:
Fix auto-decrement to perform length calculations correctly.
4. XGetDefault() doesn't return resources with multi-segment
names.
Resolution:
Modify XGetDefault() to correctly parse out "tight" bindings
of multi-segment resource names.
5. XCreateIC() does not clean up correctly if creation
fails.
Resolution:
Unregister the input method filter if creation fails.
6. XCreateFontSet() is slower in X11R6.
Resolution:
Modified XCreateFontSet() to prevent it from going through
a block of code unnecessarily under certain circumstances.
7. XOpenDisplay() returns NULL if more than 56 file
descriptors in use.
Resolution:
Removed restriction on OPEN_MAX (60) file descriptors.
8. Motif links missing after HP-UX 10.20 to 11.0
update.
Resolution:
Added code in "postinstall" script to create missing links.
PHSS_18343:
Repackaged HP-UX patch PHSS_19593 for VVOS
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_19593:
1. HP-RT ADMrt failed coredump after PHSS_16120
X/Motif patch is installed.
Resolution:
Extension GC is updated to new using GetExtension.
2. Motif causing Xserver memory to grow when
creating/destroying widgets.
Resolution:
X Server memory growth arrested with correct
use of pixmap caching call.
3. JCK interactive EventTest failed.
Resolution:
XtGrabPointer failure for Java Popups corrected
using current time.
4. Error: Object "" does not have windowed
ancestor.
Resolution:
dsm checked for null before destroy.
No error message
5. XmClipboardRetrive() sometimes goes hang
when by CopyByName method.
Resolution:
XmClipboardEndCopy had been modified to
avoid a bad loop during clean up.
6. Motif2.1 ScrolledListWidget give much smaller
item height than Motif1.2.
Resolution:
Condition has been added to check the List height
value. If height value is zero, it will take default
height size.
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_18013:
1. Asynchronous destroy of MenuShell in a cascading popup
causes coredumps.
Resolution:
Changes done in Xm library to avoid application crash
during Asynchronous destroy of MenuShell in a cascading
popup.
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_17326:
1. Motif application causes Xserver memory to grow
continously.
Resolution:
This fix ensures that the pixmap created for stipple
operations in XmScrollBar is cached. Hence multiple
create/destroy of ScrollBar ensures that Xserver memory
is not consumed.
2. Bookmarks icon overlaps string in Netscape.
Resolution:
Netscape bookmarks won't have the pixmaps overlapping
the text portion.
3. Destroy of cascade buttons before submenu popdowns
could cause application hang.
Resolution:
The fix is specific to Java Popup Menus. With this
fix there is a reduced risk of Popup Menus causing
application hangs when the cascade buttons are
destroyed in multiple threads.
4. Java popup menus using multiple cascade coredumps.
Resolution:
The fix is specific to Java Popup Menus. With this
fix there is a reduced risk of Popup Menus causing
application core dumps using multiple cascades.
5. Java application coredumps when submenu of
Popupmenu is destroyed.
Resolution:
The fix is specific to Java Popup Menus. With this
fix there is a reduced risk of Popup Menus causing
application core dumps when submenus get destroyed
in a multithreaded environment.
6. ScrolledWindow doesn't accept initial sizes.
Resolution:
The fix ensures the behaviour of ScrolledWindow
with initial sizes specified and scrolling policy
as XmVARIABLE to be same as defined in Motif1.2.
When initial width and height for the ScrolledWindow
is set during creation, it is used till the widget is
realized and no size change is accepted until the widget
is realized.
7. V2200 Motif2.1 header file XmP.h doesn't match definition
in libXm.a
Resolution:
XmeStringsAreEqual is undefined. The fix defines
_XmStringsAreEqual to XmeNamesAreEqual.
8. Xlib creates incorrect fontset if XLFD defines codeset
entry.
Resolution:
Font selection/loading code fixed in libX11.3.
9. XmbResetIC() returns NULL if current locale is *.utf8.
Resolution:
_XimCommitedMbString() fixed for *.utf8 locales in libX11.3.
10. File Xcms.txt is left open across exec calls,
results in lost FD's
Resolution:
libX11.1 now closes the file descriptor for this file.
11. All CDE components abort when trying to copy in
zh_eucTW locale.
Resolution:
conversion routine for eucTW fixed in libX11.2.
12. _XlcResolveLocaleName allocates too little
memory, corrupts malloc.
Resolution:
memory allocation corrected in libX11.2.
13. Netscape is very slow to load after
PHSS_16617/PHSS_16620.
Resolution:
XCreateFontSet() now uses XListFonts() in libX11.1.
14. Multidisplay application with togglebutton
generated badmatch when the indicator visual
is 'check' and the toggle buttons on all the
screens are selected.
Resolution:
This defect is fixed by creating different
pixmaps of check mark for different screens
in the Initialize procedure of cascade
button.
15. Motif application coredumps when the toplevel
widget with text widget as child is destroyed
before the event loop is encountered.
Resolution:
The defect is fixed by adding a destroy callback
on dsm(drop site manager) which removes the
timeout procedure before destroying dsm. This
prevents referencing of the dsm after it is
destroyed in the timeout procedure.
16. XmText grabs the keyboard if both button 1 and
button 2 are pressed.
Resolution:
The fix was to disable a flag if button1 is
released while button2 is pressed. If the flag
is unset, keyboard grab is released.
17. Keyboard traversal does not work correctly after
resizing the window.
Resolution:
The fix ensures correct traversal behaviour for
children inside a ScrollWindow. The traversal
behaviour was influenced by the position of the
scrollbar. When the focus leaves and comes back
to the application, traversal hierarchy is
recreated and was influenced by the position of
the scrollbar. The fix was to handle negative
values for the children.
18. Motif applications aborts when displaying to a
Sun running CDE.
Resolution:
Font list in Text Field had an invalid memory
address when specified font was unavailable. The
default value is set to null and converter set
to XmRImmediate.
19. Buffer overflow in Xt.
Resolution:
Buffer overflow has been prevented by structure
fields initialization. Changes from the TOG.
20. Memory leak in Motif1.2 libXm.1 and libXm.2.
Resolution:
The fix was to enable font list caching. In its
absence applications leak memory if they create
and destroy widgets continuously. Also this fix
improves performance.
21. Event handlers in Popups cause performance
degradation and coredump in Java Popup Menus.
Resolution:
The fix is specific to Java Popup Menus. With this
fix Popup Menus show an improved performance and
don't core dump under stressed conditions.
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_17422:
1) Include iso_8859.15 related changes.
Resolution:
Introducing new files for euro related functionality.
Based on HP-UX patch PHSS_16620:
1.SetValues on a CascadeButton after destroying the
most recently created cascade button, crashes the
application since it always uses the GC of the
most recently created CascadeButton, which is not
correct.
2.Pulldown menu will not stay posted from a cascade
button when its background color of menu bar is set.
3.I-Beam cusrsor is visible on the frame border on
text widget when the margin width is set to 0.
4.Changing the mouse double-click time affects the
beahaviour of option menu.
5.Cut/paste doesn't work properly under LANG=ja_JP.SJIS
on XmText widget in X11R5.
6.PHSS_11628 Missing charsets in String to FontSet
conversion.
7.XmbTextListToTextProperty has a 1024 item limit in
chinese_s locale.
8.DrawingArea widget aborts when Ctrl+mouse button1 is
pressed.
9.Applications that use XmListDeletePos to update the
list elements in the list widget run slowly due to
server roundtrip in ResetHeight.
10.Under certain circumstances when upgrading from
10.X to 11.0 an existing library link (for example,
libXm.1) may be deleted. This results in the failure
of programs such as hpterm. This patch will create
all required X11/Motif library symbolic links.

Symptoms:
PHNE_22824:
Re-packaged HP-UX Patch PHNE_22086 to VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_22086:
System hangs due to memory starvation when using pckt
module.
Based upon PHNE_21433:
1) System hangs during shutdown.
2) System panic when an application is transfering large
amount of data under raw mode.
PHNE_21203:
Repackage base HP-UX patch PHNE_20094 for VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_20094:
When 32bit user application on 64bit platform uses getmsg()
on Streams Pty, a 64bit data structure is returned instead
of expected 32bit data structure.
Based upon PHNE_19616:
1) Streams pty causes memory leak when end-user does not
follow the operation procedure of master/slave pair.
2) Streams pty in UP Emulation mode leads worse performance
to applicatons based on Streams Pty, such as rlogind.
3) System winds-down to what appears to be a complete
system hang.
PHNE_19242:
repackage PHNE_18878 (Streams Pty MP fix) for VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_18878:
Streams pty will panic under race conditions between
master and slave drivers on MP systems.
Based upon PHNE_14976:
Streams pty did not work in UTF8 environment. This patch is
an enhancement that provides UTF8 support
Based upon PHNE_16155:
System panic type 15 in pckt_rsrv in the Streams pty code.
Defect Description:
PHNE_22824:
Re-packaged HP-UX Patch PHNE_22086 to VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_22086:
Memory leak when processing M_FLUSHR message in pckt module.
Resolution:
Free the undeallocated message used in processing M_FLUSHR
message in pckt module.
Based upon PHNE_21433:
1) Application may hang in ldtty close if there is some
data inside ldtty module to drain. Shutdown thread is
blocked and hangs when it tries to access the driver
under ldtty module.
2) Race condition in ldtty module causes ldtty_sendraw
to reuse a message block that has already been freed.
Resolution:
1) Inside ldtty close routine, we add a call to service
routine to drain outstanding data.
2) When a possible race condition is detected, ldtty_sendraw
makes sure that it won't use the old message buffer which
may have already been freed.
PHNE_21203:
Repackage base HP-UX patch PHNE_20094 for VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_20094:
When transparent ioctl is called, a M_IOCTL message is
forwarded to Streams Pty master side. The first message
block of M_IOCTL message, which contains iocblk data
structure, is of different size on 32 and 64bit platform.
Resolution:
Add a register function in ptm driver. At STH, when a 32bit
application is detected on 64bit platform, the registered
function is called to convert 64bit iocblk data structure
to 32bit in M_IOCTL msg.
Based upon PHNE_19616:
1) When the slave driver is opened before the master driver,
a preallocated message block (eof_msg_mp) is not freed
before return error code.
2) UP Emulation mode of Streams Pty Driver binds Streams
Pty based applications to monarch processor and causes
performance problem.
3) High priority messages are queued in PCKT module by
mistake. When this message are not processed in time,
the module begins consuming huge memory.
Resolution:
1) Check existence of master driver as soon as we try to
open slave driver. Allocate eof_msg_mp only if master is
already opened.
2) Streams Pty module now runs at QueuePair sync level,
using shared/exclusive lock to protect critical data
structure shared among master/slave drivers.
3) Process high priority msg in pckt_rput() function.
PHNE_19242:
repackage PHNE_18878 (Streams Pty MP fix) for VVOS.
Based upon PHNE_18878:
The panic was caused by the master and slave drivers running
on different processors and trying to access the same
data structure.
Resolution:
The fix was to mutually exclude the master and slave drivers
so that they cannot run at the same time and thus avoid the
race condition.
Based upon PHNE_14976:
This patch is an enhancement for UTF8 support for STREAMS
pty line discipline.
Based upon PHNE_16155:
The type 15 panic was caused the b_rptr pointer in the
mblk being overwritten by a bad value when M_FLUSH was
being processed and the system ran out of memory.

PHKL_22874:
( SR:8606172065 CR:JAGad41327 )
The Fiber Channel Mass Storage driver claims the PCI
Tachyon adapter card on HP-UX 11.11 even though it is not
supported on this release and following dmesg entry is
generated:
"The Fibre Channel PCI Tachyon card adapter (A3740A) is
NOT supported anymore.
Instead, you should use the Fibre Channel PCI Tachyon TL
card adapter (A5158A)."
( SR:8606134165 CR:JAGad03305 )
Enhancement request to enable Fabric support for
Tachyon TL A5158A card.
( SR:8606133802 CR:JAGad02946 )
Enhancement request to add Fabric related
command options to fcmsutil.
Defect Description:
PHKL_22874:
( SR:8606172065 CR:JAGad41327 )
On 11.11 PCI machines the Fiber Channel Mass Storage
Tachyon product is replaced by PCI Tachyon TL Fibre Channel
product which uses the A5158A adapter card. The A3740A
adapter card must not be used on these machines and must
not be claimed by the FCMS Tachyon driver.
Resolution:
Changed the fcT1.c (fcT1_claim routine) to make sure it
doesn't claim a PCI-tachyon card and exits when it
recognises this card. Also modified the dmesg entry to
read:
"The Fibre Channel PCI Tachyon card adapter (A3740A) is
NOT supported on HP-UX version 11.11 or later.
Instead, you should use the Fibre Channel PCI Tachyon TL
card adapter (A5158A)."
( SR:8606134165 CR:JAGad03305 )
To enable fabric support for Tachyon TL A5158A card the FCP
CDIO module has to support Fabric Scan.
Resolution:
The FCP CDIO module has been enhanced to do fabric scan.
( SR:8606133802 CR:JAGad02946 )
For Fabric support with the Tachlite driver the
fcmsutil(1M) needs fabric related command options added.
The man pages for fcmsutil(1M) need to be modified to
reflect the changes.
Resolution:
The fcmsutil has been changed and the
man pages have been updated.

Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHCO_22832
Symptoms:
PHCO_22832:
Ported HP-UX patch PHCO_18901 to VVOS
Based on HP-UX patch PHCO_18901:
When using extendfs_hfs to enlarge a file system with
a fragment size that is not 1K bytes, the directory
of the mount point becomes corrupted. This causes the
error message ". not found" to be issued when an
attempt is made to mount the file system.
Defect Description:
PHCO_22832:
Ported HP-UX patch PHCO_18901 to VVOS
Based on HP-UX patch PHCO_18901:
When the 'cylinder group summary information' needs to
be re-written (due to an increase in size), the incorrect
number of fragments required is calculated when the
fragment size is not 1K bytes.
This causes the data in the first data block, which
includes the current directory entry "." in the mount
directory, to be lost.
Resolution:
The correct number of fragments required is calculated,
regardless of the fragment size.

Defect Description:
PHSS_22863:
When WebQoS is enabled on VirtualVault the server will
return a cookie called 'VVMonState'. This cookie is
used to help WebQoS keep track of a session. Currently,
this cookie is being created using commas as field
separators. This is an invalid format that can not

PHSS_22911:
NOTE!
Patch has to be installed on the Installation Server host.
The Disk Agent packets must be redistributed to the Cell
Manager system and client systems afterwards to get the
fixes into effect.
NOTE!
Backing up files bigger than 2GB on clients that do not
have PHCO_22314 or higher installed results in following:
-status of session is "Completed/Errors" due to
inability to backup ACL's of large files.
NOTE!
Installation of Disk Agent on Sun Solaris 8 requires
PHSS_22434/PHSS_22435 patch (CORE packet) or higher to
be installed on Installation Server system.
NOTE!
Mount points with tmpfs filesystem on Sun Solaris 8
client cannot be backed up.
NOTE!
Disk Agent package contains binaries for both Linux 5.x
and Linux 6.x. Binaries for Linux 6.x have ".6"
extension and have to be renamed after redistribution of
binaries is completed. For example (Linux 6.x):
"mv vbda.6 vbda"
No action is required on Linux 5.x systems.

An open to a freshly reset or powered-on DLT tape drive
loaded with media attached to a FC-SCSI Bridge will fail
with errno EIO.
( SR:8606163819 CR:JAGad33123 )
An MTIOCGET ioctl sent to a tape drive without media
loaded will fail with ENXIO. Also includes hardware
enablement for Benchmark DLT1 tape drive.
Defect Description:
PHKL_22857:
( SR:8606173156 CR:JAGad42416 )
A statement in a Fujitsu tape drive specific open routine
that checks for a null pointer has incorrect syntax.
The statement does not properly check for the null
pointer causing a data page fault and subsequent panic of
the system.
Resolution:
The syntax of the routine has been changed to properly
check for a null pointer.
( SR:8606173157 CR:JAGad42417 )
A DLT tape drive loaded with media will queue two Unit
Attentions after reset or power up. The driver will retry a
reserve command to flush the Unit Attentions, but the
FC-SCSI bridge intercepts the reserves as expected not
allowing them to flush the drives Unit Attentions.
The next command after the reserve command is sent down
and fails due to the pending Unit Attentions causing the
open to fail with EIO.
Resolution:
The tape driver will now retry test unit ready commands
before the reserve command to flush any pending
Unit Attentions.
( SR:8606163819 CR:JAGad33123 )
The MTIOCGET was previously setup to return ENXIO if the
tape drive was offline to prevent a situation when a
tape drive not selecting on the bus may return invalid data.
Resolution:
MTIOCGET no longer returns ENXIO when media is not present.
Added support to stape driver for Benchmark DLT1 tape drive.

At the CDE login prompt, at the "language" menu,
if you select es_ES.iso88591, CDE hangs.
Defect Description:
PHSS_23070:
The problem was because of an isdigit() library function
call in cpp (the C preprocessor) which was made without
checking if the input is within the allowable range. The
return value in this case would be indeterminate which
would cause cpp to get into an infinite loop.
Resolution:
Made a check in the cpp code whenever isdigit() is called
as to whether the input parameter to isdigit() is in the
allowable range.

defect_repair general_release
Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHSS_23024
Symptoms:
PHSS_23024:
1. PANap19552 - Xdm does not update wtmp file correctly on
logout
When using xdm, if a user at a Xterminal logs out, the
executable sessreg puts a corrupt entry in the wtmp
file (bad logout hour).
2. PANap19567 - Floppy Date
When copying files to a floppy, it sometimes appears
that the copy hour is stamped one hour ahead.
3. PANap19583 - Audio CP problem
When starting the AudioCP utility the customers get the
following error message : "Old Audio Server (Aserver).
Aborting Audio Control Panel".
The problem is caused by the fact that the new variables
introduced by the Chennai lab in the Alib.h file are
ignored by the Aserver. This makes the Aserver return a
bad value at the initialization.
PHSS_20987:
1. PANap19362 - Audio compatibility between 9.11 Aserver
and DCE clients
Recent changes to the Audio library (migration from
NCK to DCE protocol) on HP-UX 11.00 have made the Audio
software incompatible with NetStation Software B.09.11.
2. PANap19440 - Date set to Jan 1 1970 when copying file
to floppy
Files copied to the floppy are timestamped Jan 1 1970.
3. PANap19472 - XDM and large UID
When login through XDM, UID is set to 60001 when larger
than 60000.
4. PANap19493 - CAP Lock problem under NS B.09.11
Holding down the Caps Lock key for about 1sec (one
slightly long keypress) will cause the LED to go out
at key release.
PHSS_20570:
1. PANap19428 - How to specify telnet port to hpxt.hpterm
The hpxt.hpterm local client used in telnet mode does
not permit to specify the port to connect to.
2. PANap19424 - Lost the ability to alternate boot methods
With a FlashDIMM in place, the config screen can be
used to enter a fileserver to use as an alternate boot
source.
Upon installing the later Netstation patches such as
PL09 and PL10, this ability to alternate between booting
from the file server or the FlashDIMM as described above
has been lost.
When trying to boot off the fileserver with a programmed
FlashDIMM in place and the above patches installed,
the Entria hangs.
3. PANap19356 - Multiclicks missing in hpxt.mwm
Multi-click functionality is missing when running
application under hpxt.mwm on a NetStation II.
When catching 'XmNactivateCallback' events under
hpxt.mwm, the 'click_count' parameter is not incremented
for repetitive clicks, unless one of either "alt",
"shift" or "ctrl" key is pressed and held down whilst
repetitively clicking.
4. PANap19251 - XDMCP Indirect behavior changed
XDMCP Indirect is failing when only *ONE* XDMCP host is
configured. Instead of XDMCP Indirect, a chooser screen
is displayed.
Configuring *TWO* XDMCP hosts cures the problem.
5. PANap19246 - Tablet serial parameters being reset
Unability to change some serial settings when
"Input Drivers" is set to "TABLET /dev/serial1".
For instance, 'stop bits' could NOT be set to 2.
6. PANap19237 - ICA corrupt display
Problem when scrolling windows displayed from Windows NT
using the Citrix ICA client.
To demonstrate the problem, login to an NT server, start
MS-Word, and load a document of several pages. Set the
display mode to "Normal", then use the down-arrow key
to scroll through the text. The fonts displayed in the
window will become corrupt, until the window is
completely redrawn (resized, minimized, etc).
7. PANap19172 - Audio pb when playing 16bits linear streams
When playing a stream in 16 bit linear mode
(AFFRawLin16), the only result is noise. The audio
server doesn't complain about this format. Playing
mu-law (AFFRawMuLaw) works.
PHSS_18658:
1. File copied to floppy is larger than the original file.
2. Emacs causes X server crash when used in True Color
mode.
3. Kernel version string does not appear in 'get installed'
if 'Update Flash Rom' is set to 'Never' in the config
file.
4. Duplicate hpxt2FileServices tag in hpxt2.my MIB.
PHSS_18064:
1. Ghost lines with Xserver B.09.11.00PL09 when drawing
outline rectangles.
PHSS_17696:
1. Netstation runs out of memory after repeated CDE logouts
with japanese fonts.
2. Xtest X Window Extension memory leak.
3. Outline rectangles wraparound at coordinates > 16K
pixels.
4. FillStiple operations interfere with following draw
operation.
5. Parasite pixels appear in PseudoColour mode.
6. Font access problem with ServiceGuard.
7. No sound when playing a stereo stream to the internal
speaker.
8. NetStations intermittently lose their terminal name.
9. VESA 1600x1200
72 Hz is not available in monitors
list.
10. Window not raised when clicking on content of window
with touch screen.
11. Elographics 281-4002 touch screen not recognized in NS
9.11.
12. In console mode, missing options in mwm root
applications menu.
13. XServer crashes when switching several times between
CDE and Japanese Console.
14. Stack pointer exception crash within X server.
15. Video under-runs with high resolution (1600x1200, 75
Hz).
16. Touch screen is slow and driver logs incomplete protocol
errors.
17. Window focus does not work.
18. Small line segments displayed on screen.
19. Laser Jet 5L prints about 1 character per second.
20. X Terminal cannot log into a Service Guard server.
21. Near-horizontal lines not always drawn properly.
22. Memory Leak in Netstation Clients.
23. TFTP boot-up does not happen properly with some OSes.
24. AServer dies using the AStopAudio call.
25. The ThinLan PCI card will not work with bootp to
configure the IP address of the Lan Card. The card
must be manually configured.
26. Boot will not switch to TFTP if NFS enabled but not
accessible.
27. The Envizex II hangs at the boot screen if the touch
screen driver is loaded and Snmpd is set to Autoload
from the directives file.
28. EnvizexII hangs if the Font Server dies.
29. remsh get stats will hang a terminal with a 100BaseT
Card.
30. DeskJet 1600 prints slowly.
31. XDrawLines requests causes X-server to crash.
32. Touch screen calibration not saved to nonvol memory.
Defect Description:
PHSS_23024:
1. PANap19552 - Xdm does not update wtmp file correctly on
logout
The sessreg file is responsible for this so it is
replaced by an updated version.
2. PANap19567 - Floppy Date
Fixed the code responsible for timestamps (NFSserver,
dosFsExt) so as to display time properly on every
timezone.
3. PANap19583 - Audio CP problem
Implemented a fix in Aserver to solve the problem.
PHSS_20987:
1. PANap19513 - Audio compatibility between 7.11 Aserver
and DCE clients
Enhanced the Aserver to accept incoming DCE requests.
2. PANap19440 - Date set to Jan 1 1970 when copying file
to floppy
Each every date is considered by mktime() as prior
to 1901 !
3. PANap19472 - XDM and large UID
Before HP-UX 10.20, user ID were limited to 60000.
Old applications have to be recompiled to be able to
use UID greater than 60000.
4. PANap19493 - CAP Lock problem under NS B.09.11
The state machine driving the toggle keys got broken
when ported.
PHSS_20570:
1. PANap19428 - How to specify telnet port to hpxt.hpterm
Enabled this ability in the telnet driver, as well as
the command line parsing in the hpterm.
2. PANap19424 - Lost the ability to alternate boot methods
Deadlock in OpenBroker.
3. PANap19356 - Multiclicks missing in hpxt.mwm
hpxt.mwm grabs to much events, thus preventing their
processing by the client application.
4. PANap19251 - XDMCP Indirect behavior changed
Enhanced 'XDMCP Indirect' behavior.
5. PANap19246 - Tablet serial parameters being reset
Hard-coded values in the DDX of the Xserver.
6. PANap19237 - ICA corrupt display
Graphic chipset registers left in unproper states after
some draw operations.
7. PANap19172 - Audio pb when playing 16bits linear streams
Hard-coded values in the audio server.
PHSS_18658:
1. File copied to floppy is larger than the original file.
2. Emacs causes X server crash when used in True Color
mode.
3. Kernel version string does not appear in 'get installed'
if 'Update Flash Rom' is set to 'Never' in the config
file.
4. Duplicate hpxt2FileServices tag in hpxt2.my MIB.
PHSS_18064:
1. Ghost lines with Xserver B.09.11.00PL09 when drawing
outline rectangles.
PHSS_17696:
1. Netstation runs out of memory after repeated CDE logouts
with japanese fonts.
2. Xtest X Window Extension memory leak.
3. Outline rectangles drawn at coordinates > 16K (for
example X=16600) appear on screen (wraparound).
Wraparound should occur at X>64K, not 16K.
4. After using X Window FillStiple operation, following
draw operation is performed with stiple pattern.
5. Parasite pixels appear in PseudoColour mode.
6. Netstation can not access floating IP address of font
server that resides in a MC/ServiceGuard cluster.
7. No sound when playing a stereo stream to the internal
speaker.
8. NetStations intermittently lose their terminal name
when power cycling them.
9. VESA 1600x1200
72 Hz is not available in monitors
list.
10. Window not raised when clicking on content of window
with touch screen.
11. Elographics 281-4002 touch screen not recognized in NS
9.11 (impossible to calibrate).
12. With Console Flash Dimm, switch to CDE mode and click
with right mouse button. The applications popup menu
is missing some hpterm applications.
13. XServer crashes when switching several times between
CDE and Japanese Console. Memory leak.
14. Virtual memory system not programmed to address more
than 512 KB stack.
15. DAC not able to handle 16 bit screen with dot clock
greater than 192 MHz.
16. Defect in touch screen driver non blocking read.
17. Button 0 events confuse focus mechanism.
18. Graphic chipset bus initialization problem.
19. Defect in Parallel Port ISR.
20. The X terminal checked that the IP address it received
from the XDMCP reply was the same as the IP address it
had sent its XDMCP request to. With Service Guard, the
X terminal sent a request to the floating IP address but
received a reply from the real IP address of the server
and then discarded the reply. This check has been
removed.
21. The graphics subsystem renders incorrectly when lines
with very little slope and extreme endpoints ( < -8000
| > 8000 ) are drawn. Clipping is ignored and junk is
written into the framebuffer.
22. Memory is missing after running xclock several times
concurrently java with local clients.
23. Design problem handling lost initial RRQ packets.
24. AServer dies using the AStopAudio call.
25. The driver ioctl code to handle interface selection
didn't properly recognize the ThinLan PCI card. It
erroneously set the interface to 100BaseT. This ioctl
is called during DHCP/bootp to ensure that any
cable/interface changes are detected.
26. It appears that if the netstation is able to contact
the mountd it assumes that it will be able to start
using NFS even if the netstation can not actually load
using NFS (for example /opt/hpxt not exported).
27. The touch driver initialized infobroker variables
twice. With snmpd, the touch driver AND the Xserver.
The Xserver was stuck in an open() in the touch driver
at a point where the infobroker variables were
initialized.
28. Problem in the way the Xserver handled closed sockets.
29. The ethernet controller dumps statistics in a shared
memory location. The completion is not checked.
30. Defect in print polling task.
31. XDrawLines running with backing store and
CoordModePrevious will cause data corruption in the cfb.
32. Touch screen two-point calibration values MIN_[X|Y] and
MAX_[X|Y] are not being saved to nonvol. The customer
is therefore required to calibrate the touchscreen at
each boot.

Symptoms:
PHSS_23022:
1. PANap19426 - New ATI Xpert98
New ATI Rage Pro Xpert98 PCI card renders but only
in half of the screen.
2. PANap19541 - vg-31 font/ATI memory conflict
When user types a 'M' character with the vg-31 font the
xterm hangs.
3. PANap19567 - Floppy Date
The floppy date is of by one hour when using the
Daylight Saving Time (DST).
4. PANap19583 - Audio CP problem
When starting the AudioCP utility the customers get the
following error message : "Old Audio Server (Aserver).
Aborting Audio Control Panel."
PHSS_22075:
5. PANap19428 - How to specify telnet port to hpxt.hpterm
The hpxt.hpterm local client used in telnet mode does
not permit to specify the port to connect to.
7. PANap19356 - Multiclicks missing in hpxt.mwm
Multi-click functionality is missing when running
application under hpxt.mwm on a NetStation II.
When catching 'XmNactivateCallback' events under
hpxt.mwm, the 'click_count' parameter is not incremented
for repetitive clicks, unless one of either "alt",
"shift" or "ctrl" key is pressed and held down whilst
repetitively clicking.
8. PANap19251 - XDMCP Indirect behavior changed
XDMCP Indirect is failing when only *ONE* XDMCP host is
configured. Instead of XDMCP Indirect, a chooser screen
is displayed.
Configuring *TWO* XDMCP hosts cures the problem.
9. PANap19246 - Tablet serial parameters being reset
Unability to change some serial settings when
"Input Drivers" is set to "TABLET /dev/serial1".
For instance, 'stop bits' could NOT be set to 2.
10. PANap19237 & PANap19549 - ICA corrupt display
Problem when scrolling windows displayed from Windows NT
using the Citrix ICA client.
11. PANap19172 - Audio pb when playing 16bits linear streams
When playing a stream in 16 bit linear mode
(AFFRawLin16), the only result is noise. The audio
server doesn't complain about this format. Playing
mu-law (AFFRawMuLaw) works.
12. PANap19552 - XDM pb when logging out
XDM does not update `wtmp' file correctly when user
logs out. `last' command shows that user is still
logged in even after he really logged out.
PHSS_20428:
1. PANap19439
Missing files in B.09.12 - japanese config. files
Japanese config. files of 'dtwmlite' are missing.
This only impacts japanese users of this local client.
Defect Description:
PHSS_23022:
1. PANap19426 - ATI Xpert 98
When switching on a Netstation with an ATI Rage Pro
Xpert98 PCI video card installed a corrupt selftest
pattern appears on the monitor.
2. PANap19541 - vg-31 font/ATI memory conflict
Modifications have been made in the mach64Ext driver for
the ATI Mach 64 Rage Pro video card. These modifications
caused a conflict with the 'M' character in the vg-31
font.
3. PANap19567 - Floppy Date
In the time structure the DST (Daylight Saving Time)
field was ignored.
4. PANap19583 - Audio CP
The problem is caused by the fact that the new variables
introduced by the Chennai lab in the Alib.h file are
ignored by the Aserver. This makes the Aserver return a
bad value at the initialization.
PHSS_22075:
1. PANap19362 - Audio compatibility between 9.11 Aserver
and DCE clients
Enhanced the Aserver to accept incoming DCE requests.
2. PANap19440 - Date set to Jan 1 1970 when copying file
to floppy
Each every date is considered by mktime() as prior
to 1901 !
3. PANap19472 - XDM and large UID
Before HP-UX 10.20, user ID were limited to 60000.
Old applications have to be recompiled to be able to
use UID greater than 60000.
4. PANap19493 - CAP Lock problem under NS B.09.11
The state machine driving the toggle keys got broken
when ported.
5. PANap19428 - How to specify telnet port to hpxt.hpterm
Enabled this ability in the telnet driver, as well as
the command line parsing in the hpterm.
6. PANap19424 - Lost the ability to alternate boot methods
Deadlock in OpenBroker.
7. PANap19356 - Multiclicks missing in hpxt.mwm
hpxt.mwm grabs to much events, thus preventing their
processing by the client application.
8. PANap19251 - XDMCP Indirect behavior changed
Enhanced 'XDMCP Indirect' behavior.
9. PANap19246 - Tablet serial parameters being reset
Hard-coded values in the DDX of the Xserver.
10. PANap19237 & PANap19549 - ICA corrupt display
Graphic chipset registers left in unproper states after
some draw operations.
11. PANap19172 - Audio pb when playing 16bits linear streams
Hard-coded values in the audio server.
12. PANap19552 - XDM pb when logging out
Merged patch PHSS_18765 which fixes this problem.

Symptoms:
PHNE_22980:
port HP-UX patch PHNE_22542 (PCI 100BT lan) to VVOS
Based on HP-UX patch PHNE_22542:
1. 100BT is randomly missing packets.
2. System panics due to instruction page fault.
3. 'netfmt' on 100BT traces causes SIGSEGV while running
HP_APA LAN_MONITOR
4. 100BT card hangs occasionally. The card is unable to
receive any frames.
Based on HP-UX patch PHNE_21682:
1. lanadmin -A to change MAC address causes panic:
wait_for_lock
Based on HP-UX patch PHNE_20442:
1. Wrong message is logged in dmesg as "Unable to setup
Read / write prefetch lengths".
2. Wrong nettl informative message being logged when speed
is changed using lanadmin.
3. lanadmin statistics are not updated & cleared correctly.
Based on HP-UX patch PHNE_19079:
1. The inbound octet count displayed by lanadmin is always
zero.
2. SAM does not support altering speed (10 or 100Mbps) and
duplex mode (half or full) settings on the interface.
3. Applications (including lanadmin) receive 10 for 10Mbps
or 100 for 100Mbps for the speed value in the ifSpeed
field of the mib structure. lanadmin therefore displays
