Install this Firmware update ONLY on models listed below.
DO NOT attempt to install this Firmware update on Kx70,Kx80 or
any other system model as this will render that system
inoperable.

This patch is a Firmware update for the following systems ONLY:
HP9000 Kx50,Kx60,979KS/x00

---------------------------------------------------------------------
This patch is a Firmware update for the HP9000 Model Kx50 & Kx60 systems.
The following features, fixes and enhancements appear in server
firmware revision 41.33:
Support has been added for the HSC A6685A Fibre Channel Card. There are
significant restrictions imposed on the location of the A6685A card when
Graphics cards are in the server. The table below shows the maximum
number of cards allowed in the server.
Max Configurations for Kx50 and Kx60 systems.
CARD Maximum Number of Cards Allowed
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Visualize-EG 0 1 2 3 4 0 1
Visualize-48XP0 0 0 0 0 1 1
Fibrechannel 4 3 2 1 0 1 0
The A6685A Fibre Channel card is not supported from Core I/O Slots (10/0
and 10/8). The card is supported from all other HSC slots. Boot and Dump
are supported for The A6685A Fibre Channel Card. This firmware will not
search Fibre Channel Fabric for bootable images and that support is not
planned. When booting over Fibre Channel you must know the full hardware
path to the boot device.
PF_CMHK3943:
Firmware revision 39.43 adds the following fixes:
- System hangs for varying duration of time that can not be interrupted
by TOC.
- System clock (software maintained) loses time. The time loss occurs randomly
and may result in large losses over a relatively short time period.
Occurrences of the above problem have only been reported against the HP3000
979KS/x00 (Mohawk) systems. Software applications that perform frequent
calling of a PDC routine, PDC_CHASSIS, affect the amount of time lost by
the system clock.
NOTE: For a more complete solution, install patch MPEKXY0 A for 5.5
and B for 6.0.
PF_CMHK3912:
FIRMWARE revision 39.12 adds the following fixes and enhancements:
FIXES:
- Freezes CPU Drive Strength value during boot.
This firmware change negates the need for the Upvtfix tool which was
provided in PF_CUPVTFIX. It is recommended that Upvtfix tool be removed
from the system after installation of firmware revision 39.12.
The tool removal can be accomplished using the following command:
swremove Upvtfix
If the Upvtfix tool was installed by means other than using swinstall,
it will have to be removed manually.
- Fixes incorrect warning messages when PDCINFO is run on
a 11.xx HP-UX system.
- Does not delete the PDC LANID when the EEPROM is cleared.
- Fixes the HP-PB I/O bus converter/card cage problem when
a PSI card is used. When PDCINFO gets called from the OS
by Predictive Support, and a PSI is plugged into the HP-PB
external card cage, HP-UX does not fail with a flt anymore.
- Systems with Service-Guard configurations can now run
PDCINFO using Predictive support without failure. The
PDC procedure "PDC_SYSTEM_INFO" is now cached in memory,
which significantly improves the speed at which PDCINFO
will execute, thus preventing the problems associated
with Service-Guard.
ENHANCEMENTS:
- Provides support for HP-UX boot time improvement, which allows
the OS to set PDC selftest parameters for the next boot. This
feature is not currently supported by the OS.
PF_CMHK3829:
FIRMWARE revision 38.29 adds the following fixes and enhancements:
- Supports HP9000 Model K360.
- Supports boot from Fibre Channel.
- Page deallocation table (PDT) entries will be generated for
HPMC's caused by multi bit memory errors.
- Transfer of control (TOC) does not corrupt the OS TOC
Vector when PDC_SYSTEM_INFO option 1 or 4 is called.
PF_CMHK3801:
New Firmware is required to provide support for the following
new products and/or features:
- Boot/Dump support for A3629A (9GB) disks
(also requires HP-UX 11.0)
- A3699A HP-PB Bus Converter
- A1828A HP-PB Expansion Module (boot supported)
- 64-Bit support for HP-UX 11.0
- A3737A 512MB Memory Module (256MB DIMM)
This revision of Firmware also includes the following fixes
and enhancements:
- HPMC caused by incorrect refresh rate for A3483A 256MB
Memory Module (128MB DIMM)
- Allows graphics card selection for console when multiple
graphics cards are installed.
- Fixes Slave processors becoming deconfigured following TOC
PF_CMHK3651:
FIRMWARE revision 36.51 adds the following enhancements
and features:
- Fixes Transfer of Control (TOC) Processor
deconfiguration problem.
- Fixes Page Deallocation Table (PDT) error
reporting problems.
- Fixes an intermittent Tag queue overflow
problem.
- Clears the display panel messages "PRI BOOT"
or "RENDEZ" when exiting the Boot Console
Handler (BCH).
