=========================================
2 more causes of the following error message have been found:
Output spooler, LDEV #...: The PJL information returned from
the printer contains a syntax error. The first 52 (max) bytes are
shown:
PJL ....
Native Mode Spooler message 9621
1) The spooler does not follow the PJL programming standard, it
has to ignore PJL responses which may still be in the buffer of the
printer, if another host/spooler has prematurely aborted the
communication with the printer.
The spooler will now ignore all PJL responses up to the point where
responses start that it has initiated itsself.
2) Printers that have set their frontpanel language to a non-US
characterset can send 8-bit characters in PJL responses. Hitting
an 8-bit character in a PJL response caused a parsing error, which
is is interpreted as a syntax error incorrectly.
The spooler parsing code has been recompiled using the proper
settings to sucessfully parse 8-bit characters as well.

External Symptoms, Cause, Fix Description
=========================================
1) The network spooler OUTSPTJ can get hung in an WAIT FOR EOD state
after:
- it prematurely stops parsing of a large PJL reply buffer.
- it escapes parsing of PJL replies altogether, with this error
message on the console:
/Output spooler, LDEV #304: The bytes of PJL printer status
exceed the bytes available to hold it.
Native Mode Spooler message 9620
This is caused by insuffient handling of large PJL response reads.
These hangs have been reported on systems using HP Linejet printers
with the internal print server card only, but investigation in the
lab shows it could happen on LaserJets as well.
