Title: How to install KRB-Support and InternetSvcSec from HPUX 10.20 OS CD onto a 10.20

    PROBLEM

The following error occurs when attempting to install KRB-Support and
InternetSvcSec from HPUX 10.20 OS CD:

         # swinstall -s /cdrom/InternetSvcSec
         ERROR: no depot found

    Reference CD Part#: B3782-10456

swinstall(1M) does not detect the KRB-Support and InternetSvcSec
directories on the cdrom as an installable depot. A series of directories
exist which contain files and scripts, but no depot.

How can KRB-Support and InternetSvcSec be installed on HP-UX?

    CONFIGURATION

    Operating System - HP-UX
    Version - 10.20
    Subsystem - InternetSvcSec

    RESOLUTION

The bundle name that InternetSvcSec belongs to and the product do not
appear at the top level of the Core OS CD for a 10.20 system. To
swinstall(1M), it is necessary to know the bundle name - B3920CA.

On the 10.20 Core OS CD - the 10.20 Hardware Extensions 2.0 Core OS CD
from April, 1998 - the bundle name is B3920CA. Upon highlighting or
double-clicking it in the SD-UX GUI, the name "InternetSvcSec" appears.

KRB-support is under the "B3782EA - HPUX Media" description on the
December 1999 HPUX 10.20 OS CD.

Title: SYS ADM: ioscan(1M) can forcibly bind a driver to a hardware path

    PROBLEM

Is it possible to bind a driver to a tape device in order to test it
prior to regenerating an HP-UX kernel?

    CONFIGURATION

    Operating System - HP-UX
    Version - 10.20
    Subsystem - Storage Tek

    RESOLUTION

The ioscan(1M) command may be used to bind a driver to a device.
The following is extracted from the ioscan(1M) man page:

Forcibly bind driver tape1 at the hardware path 8.4.1.

                ioscan -M tape1 -H 8.4.1

After testing, in order to make a permanent change, it is recommended
to modify the system file to include the appropriate hardware path and
driver name, and generate a new kernel.

Title: Error writing to NFS file system caused by two lan interfaces on same subnet

    PROBLEM

An HP-UX 11.00 client that uses AutoFS is unable to write to a directory
mounted via NFS from an HP-UX 10.20 NFS server. All attempts to write
to this NFS mounted file system fail even though the NFS configuration
    is correct.

    What is causing this problem?

    CONFIGURATION

    Operating System - HP-UX
    Version - 10.20, 11.0
Subsystem - NFS (Network File System)

    RESOLUTION

This problem was caused by having two LAN interfaces that were configured
on the same subnet. This is an unsupported configuration and results in
routing issues. (Refer to Doc_id KBRC00006961.)

The NFS mount was being done via the interface that was NOT entered as a
secure host in /etc/exports. Hence it did not have permission to write
    to the file system.

This problem was resolved as follows:

         1. Ensure that the two LAN interfaces are on different subnets.

         2. Add the second interface into /etc/exports on the NFS server
             and re-export.
