Symptoms:
PHSS_28296:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28289:
PTSfc02692:
With FMS down and only MD up, if the number of
alarms received by IFMPS exceeds the maximum
size of the buffer configured, the older alarms
are over written. In the IFMP.log file the message
'A Fault being deleted. Port Name=<the-actual-port-name>'
is seen after sending some alarms.
PTSfc02989:
Valid alarms are being dropped by mapper process.
Steps to reproduce the problem.
1). Start MD.
2). Send a valid alarm to the MD subsystem.
3). Add new message class. Configure extraction
and mapping details for the new message class
through "fmscfg" utility.
4). Run "fmscfgsync -conf" and "fmscfgsync -mdupd"
5). Send a valid alarm, which matches with the new
message class configured in step 3.
6). The alarm will be dropped by the mapper process.
Check $MDVAR/share/log/MAP.log for the error.
PTSfc03012:
Standard(M3100) local probable cause values in integer
form are being displayed as <undef> in the problem
presenter.
PHSS_27495:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27488:
PTSfc02494:
While issuing "mdcfgupd" command for 8 to 10 times
successively, the mapper process exits.
Subsequently, all other MD processes exit.
PTSfc02515:
Alarms of size >=2570 bytes are not being parsed
properly and hence land up in the Unknown Log.
PHSS_26440:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26432:
PTSfc02498:
Alarms are logged as Invalid in RAW LOG by the
logger whenever Data Collector receives the header
of the alarm in multiple chunks.
PTSfc02479:
During an alarm storm or restart of MD, FMS
receives duplicate alarms.
PTSfc02379:
The fmsmhimport of object with RDN value lenght
greater than 60 characters fails.
PHSS_25809:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25803:
PTSfc02031: The formatter will consume more CPU time
while parsing an alarm with more than two
consecutive ANY parsing patterns.
PTSfc02327: RAW log file will be backed up by Logger
during MD starup and the RAW_ALT will not be
backed up.
PTSfc02162: The Port specific fields in fmscfg utility
doesn't accept more than 77 characters even
though the size of the field has been defined
as 255 characters.
PHSS_25331:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25329:
PTSfc01470:
Lookup Table Default Value Mapping Problem
PTSfc01767:
The TCP data collectors are not re-spawned on failure for
ever. When the TCP data collector (Supplied with the
product) looses connection from the server, the data
collector goes down. CCI will respawn the Data collector.
This is supposed to be the method of reconnection when the
data collector is running as a client. But in the customer
environment, we are consistently seeing that the TCP data
collector is not re-spawned consistently. The CCI will
respawn the TCP data collector for several time, but the
server port on the NE is not available for some reason for
a long time, then the respawn stops. This could be
specific with the Verizon environment as the number of
TCP data collectors are more than 30.This behaviour is
seen more often when more than one TCP data collector
connections are lost.Currently, the data collectors are
started using configuration update command 'mdcfgupd'.
PTSfc02009:
Enhancement required:
To have an external API to the AS state m/c in the mapper
to force-trigger the Alarm synchronization (AS) for a
particular port.
PTSfc02142:
Supply Post AS phase perl scripts and other services as
programming samples.
PHSS_24600:
PTSfc01648:
Correlation does not work in case of Logical connectivity.
PTSfc01680:
Faulty behavior by HLP-Parser.
PTSfc01805:
Mapper exits when AS (Alarm Synchronization) feature is
enabled for any port.
PTSfc01806:
During CHO testing the rs232 dc dumped core. The dump is
not consistent.
PTSfc01807:
RS232DC dumps core when the configured pipe is not present.
PTSfc01808:
RS232 DC leaks memory.
PTSfc01809:
fmpmddc232d processes leak memory and uses most of CPU.
PTSfc01810:
TCP DC leaks memory, does not abort connect with small
reinit timeout.
PTSfc01814:
If a DC is killed the Alarm synchronization logic goes out
of synch.
PTSfc01895:
When dcapi sample is compiled, it fails displaying
unresolved linker errors.
PTSfc01896:
Found during system testing.

PHSS_28296:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
Resolution:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28289:
PTSfc02692:
When FMS is down and only MD is up, if the number of
alarms received by IFMPS exceeds the maximum size of the
buffer configured, the older alarms are over written.
Resolution:
The code has been modified in such a way that the
maximum configurable value can be set to 99999.
PTSfc02989:
The mapper does not reload the config files oid.conf
and fmpmap.conf when a dynamic config update command
is issued.
Resolution:
The mapper code has been modified to reload the oid.conf
and fmpmap.conf files during dynamic config update.
PTSfc03012:
Standard local probable cause values in integer form are
treated as undefined.
Resolution:
Local probable cause values in integer form are handled to
distinguish the standard ones from the undefined.
PHSS_27495:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27488:
PTSfc02494:
When mdcfgupd is executed 8 to 10 times
successively, the mapper process initializes some
specific data structures without freeing the memory
allocated previously. Subsequent memory allocations
causes the memory to be corrupted and mapper exits.
Resolution:
The code has been modified in such a way that
subsequent invocation of mdcfgupd does not corrupt
the allocated memory.
PTSfc02515:
Alarms of size >=2570 bytes are not being parsed
properly and hence land up in the Unknown Log,due
to an internal memory error.
Resolution:
The code is changed to avoid the memory error
(by increasing the failure stack size)
PHSS_26440:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26432:
PTSfc02498:
The alarms, whose header is received in more than
one read operation by the Data Collector are
logged as Invalid Alarms.
Resolution:
The parser has been modified to take care of the
above mentioned case.
PTSfc02479:
When MD looses connection with FMS and then
reconnects, it resends some of the alarms that
were sent before connection loss.
Resolution:
FMS is modified with information about the last
alarm it received from the MD before connection
loss.
PTSfc02379:
Importing objects with Attribute value excess of
60 chars using fmsmhimport fails and not seen in
Map Presenter.
Resolution:
FMS binaries oemfmoihandlr,ovfmpeld,ovfmpmdimdd &
fmscfg are modified to eliminate this problem.
PHSS_25809:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25803:
PTSfc02031: The formatter process was runs through an
indefinite loop (consuming around 90% of CPU
time) while parsing an alarm with consecutive
ANY patterns in message parsing rules
Resolution:
The Parsing pattern for ANY pattern has been
modified
PTSfc02327: The Logger process doesn't take backup of
RAW_ALT Log file during MD startup.
Resolution:
RAW_ALT file is backed up during startup.
PTSfc02162: Port Specific fields in fmscfg utility does
not accept more than 77 characters even
though the size of the field has been
defined as 255 characters
Resolution:
This problem was because of improper memory
allocation. This was corrected and the
variable initialized properly.
PHSS_25331:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25329:
PTSfc01470:
Have looked at the zip file, seems like there are manual
additionals to the table.conf file.
PTSfc01767:
The CCI process in MD is responsible to respawn the DCs
when they fail. However if the attempt to respawn a DC
fails, that particular DC will be marked as failed and
will never be respawned again. This is the normal behavior
of CCI. As far as TCP Client DCs are concerned, when the
server goes down, the cient tries to re-connect 10 times
sleeping 10s before each retry. If the connection could
not be established CCI deems that the DC is dead and marks
it as failed. At the customer site, since the server was
down for a long time, respawn was failing.
PTSfc02009:
Enhancement requested.
PTSfc02142:
The enhancement can be supplied as programming samples in
SA 1.02 patch-2
Resolution:
PTSfc01470:
I have checked the configuration with spaces 'ab c d' in
the Table lookup, it works fine. The spaces are carried to
the Problem Presenter. If you still have probs, send me
your config and the alarms, so that I can check it out for
you
It seems like somebody has edited the table.conf file. The
line in the LookupTbl.err which reads as BEGIN TABLE
mtAXE10_Sp2Name
LinkOrDest[S10]="",PortInstName[S10]="Nem tudom"
"2-100", "BSC11"
"2-101", "BSCNOR"
is INCORRECT. It needs to read as
BEGIN TABLE mtAXE10_Sp2Name
LinkOrDest[S10]="",PortInstName[S10]=""
"2-100", "Nem tudom"
"2-101", "BSCNOR"
The line after the BEGIN TABLE, just indicates if the
field is a Printable string or an integer. Values must not
be assigned at this point.I have checked with the column
value being "Nem tudom", it seems to work fine.
PS: From the swlist that you have sent, it seems like
there are no OVC/SA patches installed in this machine.
Could you please upgrade to 1.01-3 as well?
PTSfc01767:
A new optional port specific field is added for TCP DCs
which will allow the user to specify whether he wants to
re-spawn the DC continuously and if so how many times to
retry. The field name will be "RetryCount". The
possible filed values and DC behavior is mentioned below.
Field Value DC behavior Example
Field not present Retry 10 times (10 is default) --
Field Present, No value Retry till connect succeeds
RetryCount
Filed Present, Value 0 Retry till connect succeeds
RetryCount="0"
Filed Present, Value=X Retry X times
RetryCount="X"
(where X is non-zero).
However, note that when the AlarmSync/Reinit feature is
enabled, this field will be ignored.

PTSfc01648:
Correlation does not work in case of Logical connectivity.
PTSfc01680:
1)Valid Alarms get clubbed together for a pair of begin-
only patterns configured.
2)TCP/IP DC gets connection reset repeatedly for a pair of
begin-end patterns configured.
PTSfc01805:
Memory corruption happens while handling the spontaneous
alarms which leads mapper to dump core.
PTSfc01806:
When run for a long time with alarms pumped in
continuously , RS232 DC exits non-consistently.
PTSfc01807:
RS232 DC exits when the RS232 device is configured as a
non-existing pipe and AS is enabled. The dump is immediate.
PTSfc01808:
a. RS232 DC leaks 7 bytes memory everytime it receives
AS/HB/Reset/Reinit requests.
b. When the port specific scrpt uses a SouthBound device,
for each alarm DC leaks 1024 bytes of memory.
PTSfc01809:
Resident memory size and CPU usage of fmpmddc232d
processes keep increasing when invalid alarms are pumped
continuously.
PTSfc01810:
TCP DC leaks memory everytime it receives
AS/HB/Reset/Reinit request. When the Reinit timeout is
small, and connection to NE fails, TCP DC keeps trying to
connect.
PTSfc01814:
When DCs die and get respawned by CCI process, the state
engine of mapper process with AS-enabled may be in
different state which will lead to chaos. There should be
a hand-shake mechanism between the mapper and cci so that
mapper can reset the port objects of that DC which gets
respawned.
PTSfc01895:
The library libctlmsgext.a has not been included in the
libraries dependency.
PTSfc01896:
"fmscfg" doesn't handle the special characters (\ , ")
properly in table entries.
Resolution:
PTSfc01648:
The neShortname was not properly set for constructing the
problem and therefore the problems were not macthing
properly for logical connectivity cases. Now it is taken
care of.
PTSfc01680:
The algorithms for Parse and Search routines changed and
rewritten along with two new search routines.
PTSfc01805:
Memory corruption is resolved by changing the alarm list
handling code.
PTSfc01806:
After receiving a RESET request from AS module, Check the
validity of device fd before clearing it from the select
mask.
PTSfc01807:
After receiving a RESET request from AS module, Check the
validity of device fd before clearing it from the select
mask.
PTSfc01808:
Added code to free memory when no longer needed.
PTSfc01809:
Added code to pass the buffer text as invalid to logger if
no begin string/end string was found in buffer and no
pattern is configured to have only an endstring.
PTSfc01810:
1. Added code to free memory allocated to portname after
processing the request from CCI.
2. Added code not to receive CCI messages between
connection retries.
PTSfc01814:
The CCI detects the death of DCs. After detection it
should send the death information to the Alarm
synchronization module. Then CCI has to wait for the Alarm
synchronization module to move all the Ports(under the DC)
to an appropriate state as far as alarm synchronization is
concerned. Once the CCI gets the acknowledgement from the
Alarm synchronization module, it can go ahead and try to
respawn the DC.
PTSfc01895:
The library is included in the Makefile of dcApi and also
the library is placed under the prg-sample/lib path.
PTSfc01896:
The special characters(\ , ") should be escaped properly
before writing into the configuration file.

PHSS_28287:
PTSfc02661:
This is an enhancement.Only root level topology is

Now a new feature is added to load entire topology
based on an environment variable SA_LOAD_FULL_TOPOLOGY.
PTSfc02908:
Alarms correlated to a root cause are not visible
on Problem presenter when the "Related" button

and update time in order to distinguish the problem
from new problem and update problem.
PHSS_27493:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27486:
PTSfc02828:
The OVC/Assurance 1.02 with patch-4 scripts and
binaries check for a hard-coded Oracle version
number, either 8.1.7.0.0 or 8.0.6.0.0. This fails
when an Oracle patch is installed on the
underlying database, since, an Oracle patch
changes the version number by adding the patch
number to the version. Example, upon installation
of Oracle patch-3 on top of Oracle 8.1.7.0.0, the
version number becomes 8.1.7.3.0. Hence the
OVC/Assurance configuration fails.
Resolution:
The first 3 characters in the Oracle version
string ( example, 8.1.7 or 8.0.6 ) indicate the
base release of Oracle and the others indicate
patches levels. The OVC/Assurance scripts and
binaries are modified to check only for the first
3 significant characters in the Oracle version
string.
PTSfc02496:
This is an enhancement.
The title bar of the ProblemPresenter Window
displays the name of the root MOI being managed.
The Customer wants the Username and Role of the
operator to be part of the title.
Resolution:
Code has been added to display the User name and
the role along with the name of the root MOI
being managed.
PTSfc01981:
This is an enhancement.
The Title bar of the Problem Presenter displays
the name of the root MOI being managed. The
Customer wants the title to include the Event
filter name if set in addition to the name of the
root MOI being managed.
Resolution:
Code has been added to display the filter name
along with the name of the root MOI being managed.
PTSfc02635:
The case that an object receiving an
"indeterminate" alarm followed by a
"critical/major" alarm to enable blinking of
an object is not handled.
Resolution:
The code is modified to handle the above
mentioned case.
PTSfc01404:
When the GUIC is requested to exit, when it
is busy doing bulk operations, it is receiving
the sigabort signal which is not handled.
The default behaviour for sigabort is to core.
Resolution:
Code is modified to handle the condition, of
handler exiting when the threads spawned by
it are still busy.
PTSfc02634:
The to-node and from-nodes of the links in
server map,
are labelled as RDN's instead of actual labels.
Resolution:
The actual labels are used for labelling the
to-node and from-nodes of the submaps of the
links in the server map.
PTSfc01980:
In the map presenter, when a right click in
done on an object to "Show Problems" it will
show problems of that object only and not of its
child nodes and links. This observation can be
made by selecting the "Show Outages" option also.
Resolution:
In the map presenter, another menu item
Show Problems(Incl. Submaps) is provided which
shows problems associated with the child nodes
and links of the object selected. Same feature
is provided for outages with a new menu item
Show Outages(Incl. Submaps) which shows outages
associated with child nodes and links of
the selected object.
PHSS_26439:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26431:
PTSfc02531 :
ILOG binary 'admintl' is not supported on ORACLE
8i
Resolution :
A new binary 'admintl8i' which supports Oracle 8i
has been used
PTSfc02533:
This is an enhancement to support OVC/Assurance
with ORACLE 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00 and HP-UX 11.11.
Resolution:
A seperate configuration script is included to
modify changes in database creation scripts based
on versions of HP-UX and ORACLE. Additionaly a new
set of ODBC library has been included.
PTSfc02580:
Action item 'Show Outages' is not required for
Termination Point class objects because it is
added for its parent class i.e., Component Class
objects.
Resolution:
The Action item 'Show Outages' is removed for
Termination Point because they are already
available for Component Class objects.
PTSfc02624:
This is an enhancement. Currently, the additional
text and additional information in the Table
Presenter can be viewed in the same column.
Additionally, a new window has to be provided to
view the additional text and additional
information in the Table Presenter.
Resolution:
The Table Presenter has been modified to pop up a
new window for additional text and additional
information, when clicked on the text inside the
column.
PTSfc02294:
Some of the OVC/Assurance login panels hang when
30 clients log in simultaneously.
Resolution:
The application handlers have been modified to
retry till a successful connection is established
with the user handler process.
PTSfc00678:
Due to execessive optimization, the Operator
Profile Configurator(fmsopcfg) displays a warning
"IlvView::isIconified: cannot get window state" on
the console window, while accessing Main Menu
options.
Resolution:
The optimization has been tuned to correct the
problem.
PTSfc02572:
GUIS mohndl opens redundant notification channels
to notif server, resulting in the notif server
hogging the CPU.
Resolution:
GUIS mohndl has been modified to eliminate the
redundant opening of notification channels.
PTSfc00510:
The filter map objects are not auto laid-out
properly.
Resolution:
This is a defect in ILOG and has been fixed.
PHSS_25808:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25802:
PTSfc02272: 'Show Outages' should not be included as
part of actions available for Network Class
objects
Resolution: 'Show Outages' Action for Network Class is
removed from the list of actions for Network
Class objects.
PTSfc02344: This is an enhancement to provide additional
menu items History and Details to problem
presenter. Option is provided to write these
menu items to the database without removing
the customized settings in the database.
Resolution: This has been implemented, and is now
available as an option to 'dbinit'.The
option is '-update'
PTSfc01493: When the GUI is slow, need an indication to
tell operators that work is in progress.
Resolution:
This is an enhancement to ILOG and has
been implemented.
PHSS_25336:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25307:
PTSfc01853:
The long load times are caused by inefficient traversal of
the Topology, and inefficient indexes in the GUIDB.
PTSfc01984:
This is an enhancement
PTSfc02053:
The default admin state is "Locked".
PTSfc01869:
When the number of root objects is very large, there is
a long delay between clicking the start button on the
login panel and when any GUI presenter first comes up.
Resolution:
PTSfc01853:
The traversal has been modified to a breadth first from
depth first. Map caching has been added to reduce the
number of Database hits required against the GUIDB. The
indexes of the GUIDB have been optimized. The default
OEMFMAPLISTSIZE has been reduced to 50 from 10000. Seek
times in the cache were greater than load times from DB.
PTSfc01984:
This enhancement has been implemented
PTSfc02053:
Edited moah.cpp to default admin state to "UnLocked" and
allow override by environment
variable "OVCSA_DEFAULT_ADMIN_STATE_VALUE".This variable
may be set to "1" (UnLocked) or "0" (Locked).
PTSfc01869:
GUI presenter(s) will come up reasonably soon
after the user clicks start button on the login panel.
PHSS_24599:
PTSfc01462:
Users cannot save their own event filters.
PTSfc01473:
Transcient object is not cleared from the Map when the
problems on that transcient object is dischaged.
PTSfc01492:
Alarm History should have "Details" button.
PTSfc01748:
When attempting to assign a user to a operation profile.
Depending on how the user was initialized the
administrator may receive the above error. When assigning
many users at the same time, the complete operation fails.
The error is not descriptive enought to identify and
resolve the issue.
Resolution:
PTSfc01462:
Changes were made to FiltList.[h, cpp, and ilv]
and "functions" to add a second filter list to the
existing panel. This allows the user to access his own
filters and the admin's (default) filters. A tgf bug
caused a problem with simultaneous saves. A custom
database lock had to be added that requires the change in
the "functions" script file.
PTSfc01473:
The fix for this has been backed out because it causes
core dumps in the mohndl, the orbmaster layer and notif
server cores.
PTSfc01492:
Added "Details" panel to more easily display all fields of
each alarm.
PTSfc01748:
Only users which are setup by fmsopcfg will be allowed to
be assigned. Users created by ams_cli, ovlogin, ovuser are
not complete and will not be presented as valid users to
fmsopcfg.
The error messages will now include the user name and
role.
The processing of the bulk user assignment is now passive
on user related errors. And will complete processing of as
many users as possible. The users which result in errors
will not be assigned.
Enhancement:

Special Installation Instructions:
PHSS_28294:
Please follow the following instructions, while installing
this patch.
1.Stop GUIC
2.Stop GUIS
3.Install this patch
4.Run the following script to complete the update
if your GUIDB has already been created. This
step is to be done only if it is not done
earlier.
/opt/OEMF/V5.0/GUIDB/lbin/dbperffix.sh
This script will drop and re-create the indexes on
the MAP, MAPNODE and MAPLIST tables. The tables
will be locked during this process. The script
takes a couple of minutes per 100,000 objects.
NOTE: Running guidbsysconfig will also create the
database indexes with the new format. The
above script will not be required, however
this will destroy any data in the DB if it
already exists.
5.If you want to load the entire topology during
initialization, the following environment variable
needs to be set to TRUE before GUIS is started:
SA_LOAD_FULL_TOPOLOGY
6.Start GUIS
7.Start GUIC

PTSfc02057:
The defect occurs when a FMS machine in a multi-site
installation is down for more than 10 minutes. When the
machine is brought back online other machines in the

PTSfc02058:
Defect only occurs in installations with more than 1 FMS.
If one machine in the installation is down for more than
10 minutes than notification filters can be leaked when
the machine is brought back online.
PTSfc02092:
AV time format is not configurable, default is confusing.
The fomat that the Update Time, Create Time, and other
times from the database are presented in the Web Alarm
Viewer is confusing. It is a 12-hour time without any AM
or PM entries. The date is also in MM/DD/YYYY format,
which is not useful internationally. The best solution
would be to allow the time format to be configured or
to default to the localization options of the WAV server.
If this cannot be done, then the time should default to a
24-hour format with the date presented as dd-MMM-yyyy (01-
JAN-2001)

Cumulative Consolidated Patch
Resolution:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28286:
PTSfc01157:
If the license file is corrupted, NSM does not log any
error message in NSM log or syslog.
Resolution:
NSM has been modified so that if the license file is
corrupted, it exits after logging an appropriate error
message in the NSM log and syslog.
PTSfc01718:
When the Managed Object is in outage, NSM discards
the alrams and deletes all the existing problems.
So when the Managed Object comes out of outage,
the alarms recevied before and during outage
is not taken into consideration for showing
Managed Object status in the Map Presenter
though the problems are present in the
Problem Presenter. In short, NSM and Problem Manager
is not in sync.
Resolution:
The NSM is modifed to receive alarms when the
Managed Object is in outage. The NSM also will not
delete the problems so that it can recompute
the Managed Object stauts and update the
Managed Object status in the Map Presenter.
This functionality is provided as an
optional feature. The customer needs to modfiy
the /etc/opt/OEMF/V5.0/FMS/share/lrf/ovfmpnsmd.lrf
file as follows:
ovfmpnsmd:/opt/OEMF/V5.0/FMS/bin/ovfmpnsmd:
OVs_NO_START:: -m :OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:30:
The -m option enables this behaviour.
PTSfc02529:
fmsmhexport does not correctly handle embedded spaces
in FDNs.
Resolution:
fmsmhexport's invokation of oemfmoihandler has been
appropriately modified to handle embedded spaces in
FDNs.
PTSfc02806:
The decoding of alarms containing additional text
was improper within ovfmpmdimdd leading to a core

Resolution:
ovfmpmdimdd has been modified to properly decode
alarms containing additional text.
PTSfc02932:
Problem Manager dumps core while handling an alarm
storm into FMS due to improper handling of event time.
Resolution:
Problem Manager has been modified to correctly handle the
event time in case of alarm storm.
PTSfc02889:
MO Manager dumps core while resolving the managed object
identifier in case the size of managed object identifier is
less than three.
Resolution:
MO Manager is modified to check the size of the managed
object identifier. If the size is less than three,
MO manager logs an error in ovdump log.
PTSfc02972:
Faulty error check in fmsprobsvr caused one alarm
processing thread to exit, thereby stopping
processing of alarms in fmsprobsvr.
Resolution:
fmsprobsvr code has been corrected and it is ensured
that the thread exits only when the FMS system is
shut down.
PTSfc02195:
Due to database synchronisation issues, when a own of a
problem is tried, retrieval of the alarm related data
fails. This changes the state of the problem to owned but
the GUI clients do not get updated with the latest alarms.
Resolution:
fmsprobsvr has been modified to disown the problem if
own fails to retrieve alarm data
PTSfc02997
During startup ovfmpevcd tries to write to a named pipe
which has not been initialized, resulting in core dump.
Resolution:
ovfmpevcd has been modified to handle the named pipe
properly.
PTSfc03012:

Resolution:
Local probable cause values in integer form are handled to
distinguish the standard ones from the undefined.
PHSS_27492:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27485:
PTSfc02828:
The OVC/Assurance 1.02 with patch-4 scripts and
binaries check for a hard-coded Oracle version
number, either 8.1.7.0.0 or 8.0.6.0.0. This fails
when an Oracle patch is installed on the
underlying database, since, an Oracle patch changes
the version number by adding the patch number to
the version. Example, upon installation of Oracle
patch-3 on top of Oracle 8.1.7.0.0, the version
number becomes 8.1.7.3.0. Hence the OVC/Assurance
configuration fails.
Resolution:
The first 3 characters in the Oracle version string
( example, 8.1.7 or 8.0.6 ) indicate the base
release of Oracle and the others indicate patches
levels. The OVC/Assurance scripts and binaries are
modified to check only for the first 3 significant
characters in the Oracle version string.
PTSfc02622:
The Problem Manager does not properly handle
errors returned by Oracle, such as the database
becoming full, when trying to insert or update
'problems' into the database. Whenever such errors
occur, the Problem Manager simply ignores the
errors and proceeds to process the next alarm.
Resolution:
When trying to insert or update problems in the
database, if the Problem Manager encounters Oracle
errors arising from the database becoming full,
the Problem Manager code is appropriately changed
to log these errors in syslog and perform a
gracefull shutdown. A shutdown is performed since
such errors indicate a lack of resources.
PTSfc02768:
When an MO is deleted, no internal mechanism
available in FMS to automatically perform the
following:
-discharge all the associated active problems
-restore all the associated pending/active
outages.
-discharge all the associated OMevents.
Resolution:
The FMS is modified to do the following whenever
an MO is deleted:
-discharge all the active problems
associated with the MO.
-restore all the pending or already
active outages associated with the MO
-discharge all the OMEvents associated
with the MO
PTSfc02872:
Alarms created or modified by the ECS circuits
are not sent out to the event logger process
for further processing. Such newly created
alarms and modified alarms are lost and never
reach the presenters. In addition, during an
event storm, some secondary alarms are lost
due to small buffer size.
Resolution:
Event Correlator has been modified to handle
new and modified alarms. Buffering logic
has been enhanced to ensure that the
secondary alarms are not lost.
PHSS_26437:

PHSS_26429:
PTSfc02533:
This is an enhancement to support OVC/Assurance on
with ORACLE 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00 and HP-UX 11.11.
Resolution:
A seperate configuration script is included to
modify changes in database creation scripts based
on versions of HP-UX and ORACLE. Additionaly a new
set of ODBC library has been included.
PTSfc02532:
Context losses connection frequently with the FMS
database.
Resolution:
Collection Managers Pro*C files should compile
with release_cursor set to "yes".
PTSfc02479:
When MD loses connection with FMS and then
reconnects, it resends some of the alarms that
were sent before connection loss.
Resolution:
FMS is modified with information about the last
alarm it receievd from the MD before connection
loss.
PTSfc02329:
Second or subsequent transient object creation
does not propagate its status to its parent.
Resolution:
The ovfmpnsmd binary has been modified to
eliminate this problem.
PTSfc02379:
Importing objects with Attribute value excess of
60 chars using fmsmhimport fails and not seen in
Map Presenter.
Resolution :
FMS binaries oemfmoihandlr,ovfmpeld,ovfmpmdimdd &
fmscfg are modified to eliminate this problem.
PTSfc02460:
Objects with indeterminant severity are shown as
normal objects in the Map Presenter if the
ovfmpnsmd is run with -i option and the object is
drilled down on.
Resolution :
Problem in the fmsmosvr is fixed.
PTSfc02228:
FMS neither sends notifications nor retrieves MO
data for transient objects. Transient objects are
not removed from the Map Presenter when all the
associated problems are discharged.
Resolution:
FMS will send notifications for transient objects.
FMS will retrieve MO data for transient
objects, which is fixed as PTSfc02554 Transient
objects will be removed from Map Presenter when
there are no problem conditions associated with
it.
PTSfc02250:
When oemfmoihndlr delets the NODE using one of the
ILOG TGF APIs, maplink objects on the map
descriptions containing the NODE are not removed
even if they are associated with the NODE in the
presentation DB. A subsequent vector operation
involving the modifiedMAP description object
results in a core dump of oemfmoihndlr.
Resolution:
Explicitly remove the links associated with the
NODE and present on the map description, which
contains the NODE. Then go for removal of the NODE
from the map description, thus preventing the
reported core dump of oemfmoihndlr.
PTSfc02546:
Implementation of
OEMFProblem::ProblemManager::get_problem_data
_by_filter() doing some processing, which can be
avoided under certain conditions. This results in
more time to download problem condition data using
the IDL operation.
Resolution:
Implementation of
OEMFProblem::ProblemManager::get_problem_data
_by_filter() in fmsprobsvr modified to avoid the
processing which can be avoided under certain
conditions. Basically a merge from the same
improvement done in SA 1.01 Pacth9 is done into SA
1.02. PTSfc02554: The transient objects are not
fetched when querying the database for objects
while preparing the results for the IDL operation-
OEMFManagedObject::MOManager::get_mo_data
_by_filter()
The transient object IDs fetched from database are
discarded in the implementation of IDL operation-
OEMFManagedObject::MOManager::get_mo_data
_by_name()
Resolution:
The ManagedObject manager's implementation of the
two IDL operations-
OEMFManagedObject::MOManager::get_mo_data
_by_filter() and
OEMFManagedObject::MOManager::get_mo_data
_by_name() are appropriately modified to also
return data for transient objects.

Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25800:
PTSfc02275: Config files should be validated before
copying from $FMSETC/share/newconf directory
to $FMSETC/share/conf directory.
Resolution:
All config files are checked for size. If the
file size is zero, then user will be prompted
for input and the files will be copied based
on the input.
PTSfc02293: IMDD doesn't handle the MOIs, which have
colon (':')
Resolution:
The MOIs with colon (':') is handled properly
PTSfc02274: Additional utility to detect inconsistency
between NSM database and Problem database on
the number of active problems per
non-transient FDN.
Resolution:
Added a new script to check to detect the
inconsistency and integrated the same with
fmsstatus, fmsstop and fmsstart. The script
does not attempt to clear the inconsistency.
PTSfc01873: fmsopfix fails after importing a file that
contains group domain names.
Resolution:
fmsmhimportpdbdomain script modified to fail
if group domain names are found in toimport
file. fmsopfix modified to delete only
_domain nodes.
PTSfc02257: After installing TGF patch 17, fmsmhpdbimport
dumps core.
Resolution:
Rebuild oemfmoihndlr with TGF patch 17
binaries
PTSfc02267: The problem.sql.create script has been
modified to ensure that the space required
during alarm backups succeed. However, the
initial extents have been set to a higher
value without change in the disk space
requirements. Due to this higher value, the
new users who configure their database with
SA 1.02 Patch 2, would fail to configure if
they choose the default values.
Resolution: The initial extent for the alarm_idx6 has
been reduced to 30M so that the configuration
with default values also succeed.

PTSfc01665:
PM dumps on shutdown and does not exit gracefully.
PTSfc01804:
This can be reproduced in the labs.
PTSfc01812:
fmsalmsvr not testing the ecstate when retrieving alarms
associated with the primary/major alarm.
PTSfc01853:
The long load times are caused by inefficient traversal of
the Topology, and inefficient indexes in the GUIDB.
PTSfc02014:
Under investigation. Core files/trace files were obtained
from the customer.identified the piece of code were it is
coring. The plan is to reproduce the core in the lab by
overloading the delete operator to initialize the swapout
object memory with a specific pattern.
PTSfc02015:
This provides improvement for object addition/deletion
activity.
PTSfc02036:
FYI, i have completed the check-in of the code for
PTSfc02036 ie;the WESTEL memory leak and core dump of PM
on Alarm not found error situation.
PTSfc02037:
Long running queries caused one transaction to use too
much rollback segment space.
PTSfc02057:
When a machine in an installation is down then
notification filters which need to be added to this
machine for each register notif received (by an
operational machine) fail. These remote registrations are
persitified so that they can be sent to the downed machine
after it comes back online. The problem with the current
code is that each new register notif sends all of the
persitified remote registrations to the downed server one
it is online. This causes a tremendous slow down on the
system and it appears to be deadlocked. Fix: The fix for
this issue is to only have the background thread send the
persitified remote registrations to the downed server.
Code fix is implemented and unit tested. Needs to be
given to system test for further testing
PTSfc02058:
When one machine is down in a mutli fms installation
filters on the notification proxy push supplier for this
machine are leaked. This occurs when the machine is brought
back online. Filters for persitified remote registrations
are added to this machine and are never removed. This
could cause a build up of filters on this machine and lead
to system performance degrading.
PTSfc02092:
Time information was being lost, as times were displayed
in 12-hour format without and AM/PM indicator.
Resolution:
PTSfc01665:
Modified the Collecton managers' signal handling to block
the shutdown signals from being delivered to the non
signal handling threads.
PTSfc01804:
Add code in OEMFProblem_ProblemImp::Update to forward alarm
to NSM.
PTSfc01812:
Modified the SQL query to include ecstate=4.
PTSfc01853:
The traversal has been modified to a breadth first from
depth first. Map caching has been added to reduce the
number of Database hits required against the GUIDB. The
indexes of the GUIDB have been optimized. The default

times in the cache were greater than load times from DB.

PHSS_27491:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27484:
PTSfc02415:
Duplicate table names are allowed while configuring
the table names and displays data only on one of
these duplicate "tables".
PTSfc01980:

map presenter will show problems associated with
that object only and not of its children. The same
behaviour can be observed with Show Outages also.
PTSfc02496:
The title bar of the ProblemPresenter Window
displays the name of the root MOI being managed.
It does not display the User name and the role of
operator.
PTSfc01981:
The Title of the Problem Presenter displays the
name of the of the root MOI being managed. It does
not display the event filter name if set.
PTSfc02768:
When an MO is deleted, the problem presenter still
shows the active problems associated with it. Also
if the MO had pending or active outages before it's
deletion, recreation of the same MO and subsequent
submittal of outages for that MO fails.
PHSS_26820:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26819:
PTSfc02324:
Customizations to the WAV configuration files and
Wav.html files are lost when WAV configuration
scripts are run again.

PTSfc02532:
Outage creation fails in a machine with ORACLE
8.1.7
PTSfc02594:
On Windows NT, when [OK] button in the Edit Map
Link window is clicked, the Map presenter is
de-activated If there are any other Windows

PTSfc00852:
After opening a map in the Map Presenter, the
Editable state of the Map is shown indifferently
between the Menu and the checkbox.
PTSfc00510:
Filter map objects are not auto laid-out
correctly. In some instances, the objects are
overlapping or have big gaps between them.
PHSS_25805:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25799:
PTSfc02238: Applications using interfaces in
OVUserService.idl fails to compile.
PTSfc01818: In Problem Presenter, a grey box(sometimes
blank, sometimes with content of the next
column) appears on the top left corner of a
problem presenter after operator enters a
text string directly into the 'Last
Annotation' field.
PTSfc02095: It is not possible to customize severity,
probable cause mappings and date format
in WAV tables.
PTSfc02251: Memory growth in ECS table node causes the
ovfmpevcd to grow to MAX_DSIZ and abort.
PTSfc01493: When the GUI is slow, no indication is shown
to operators to convey that work is
in progress.
PHSS_25334:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25305:
PTSfc01857:
The granby release changed the way columns are counted for
sorting in saved layouts. The result is seemingly random
sorting.
PTSfc01984:
The customer has requested that Details and History be
added on as menu choices.
PTSfc02058:
Defect only occurs in installations with more than 1 FMS.
If one machine in the installation is down for more than
10 inutes than notification filters can be leaked when the
machine is brought back online.
PTSfc02092:
WAV time format is not configurable, default is confusing.
If this cannot be done, then the time should default to a
24-hour format with the date presented as dd-MMM-yyyy (01-
JAN-2001)This L3 entered to separate it from PTSfc02078.
It is onsidered to be a showstopper issue for Telecom El
alvador acceptance of OVC/SA.
PTSfc02093:
Probable Cause field in WAV does not map to text. The
integer value for Probable Cause in the Web Alarm Viewer
does not map to the text values used for the Problem
presenter. This is not acceptable because operators should
not be expected to manually map values to fields.
This is considered to be a showstopper for Telecom El
Salvador acceptance of OVC/SA
PTSfc02094:
WAV time is fixed to GMT as reflected in database.
There is no way to localize the Update Time, Create Time,
etc. from the fmsdb to local time in the Web Alarm Viewer.
At best this should use the timezone of the client system
(the system running the web browser). At minimum it should
be set to the TZ variable of the WAV server (this would
allow TZ to be set prior to running the server if an
alternate timezone was required). This issue is a
showstopper for Telecom El Salvador in their acceptance
of OVC/SA.
PTSfc02119:
CLASSPATH not sourced the same under iplanet 6.0 as under
iplanet 4.1 The most current version of iplanet web server
software available is 6.0. The WAV installation scripts,
when run against this version, do not source the CLASSPATH
by including the CLASSPATH environment variable set in the
shell starting the server. The CLASSPATH used in the
startup is entirely sourced by the file ervlets.properties
within the https-<servername>/config directory.The
symptoms include errors regarding the oracle jdbc
code:Could not register database driver
oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver Workaround is to manually
install the oracle portion of the class information into
the servlets.properties file by adding the oracle paths
(<oraclehome>/jdbc/lib/classes111.zip:<oraclehome>) to the
servlet.WavServlet.classpath line in the
srvlets.properties file.I don't know if using $ORACLE_HOME
will work properly, it may be best to fully qualify
(i.e. /opt/app/oracle/product/8.0.6) instead.
PHSS_24596:
PTSfc01462:
Enhancement to allow all users to save their own event
filters.
PTSfc01492:
Hard to see all the fields in the Problem History Field
for each alarm.
PTSfc01530:
Core dump observed in a special case by customer.
PTSfc01723:
The wavsysconfig script (run during WAV configuration)
reports that it cannot locate the iPlanet/NES web server
directory on HA-configured machines.
PTSfc01733:
The update alarm should have the AlarmId of the last alarm
of its Problem type.
PTSfc01885:
Problem presenter origins are not restored when the user
re-logs into a saved session.
PTSfc01888:
User cannot launch RAV from WAV (i.e. there is no "Raw
Alarm Viewer..." menu item on the "Actions" or context
(right-click) menus, even though RAV is installed and the
WAV installer specified the RAV URL when running
wavsysconfig.
PTSfc01889:
User cannot launch RAV from WAV (i.e. there is no "Raw
Alarm Viewer..." menu item on the "Actions" or context

PTSfc02058:
When one machine is down in a mutli fms installation
filters onthe notification proxy push supplier for this
machine are leaked. This occurs when the machine is brought
back online. Filters for persitified remote registrations
are added to this machine and are never removed. This
could cause a build up of filters on this machine and lead
to system performance degrading
PTSfc02092:
Time information was being lost, as times were displayed
in 12-hour format without and AM/PM indicator.
PTSfc02093:
WAV did not map Probable Cause integers to text
descriptions.
PTSfc02094:
All the time values obtained from the servlets are
converted to the corresponding time in the timezone of the
browser.
PTSfc02119:
Under iPlanet 6.0, the classpath settings in the
servlet.properties file OVERRIDE, rather than augment, the
value of the CLASSPATH environment variable of the process
starting the web server. Therefore, the assignment to
servlet.WavServlet.classpath in servlet.properties must
contain ALL paths required by the servlet.
Resolution:
PTSfc01857:
Changed column ordering back to visual order as in
horsetooth.
PTSfc01984:
The enhancement has been implemented.
PTSfc02058:

the to distribute list if the registration has timed out.
PTSfc02092:
Time information is now presented in 24-hour format. It was
decided to NOT change the date presentation from mm/dd/yyyy
to dd-MMM-yyyy as requested.Plans to allow for site-
customized formatting will be addressed in:PTSfc02095:
Data formats in WAV are inaccessible for customization.
PTSfc02093:
Hard-coded "base" and "x.733" enumerations for Probable
Cause in the servlet.Addition of local mappings will need
to be addressed in PTSfc02095.
PTSfc02094:
All the time values obtained from the servlets are
converted to the corresponding time in the timezone of the
browser.
PTSfc02119:
wavsysconfig now adds a WAV_CLASSPATH environment variable
to the generated wavenv/wavenv.csh files.wavnesinstall
uses the new WAV_CLASSPATH environment variable to roperly
set servlet.WavServlet.classpath in servlet.properties.
PHSS_24596:
PTSfc01462:
Users cannot save their own event filters.
PTSfc01492:
Alarm History should have "Details" button.
PTSfc01530:
fmpmdevcd core dumps with a certain kind of circuit.
PTSfc01723:
The SA version 1.02 wavsysconfig script (run during WAV
configuration) assumed that the name of the WAV web server
directory contained the machine's hostname. This may not
be the case on HA (High Availability)-configured
machines. The wavsysconfig script would report it could
not locate the iPlanet/NES web server directory, and
display instructions for manually editing the rules.
properties and servlets.properties iPlanet/NES
configuration files.
PTSfc01733:
The update alarm does not have the AlarmId of the last
alarm of its Problem type.
PTSfc01885:
Problem presenter origins are not restored when the user
re-logs into a saved session.
PTSfc01888:
The WAV servlet (WavServlet.jar) reads the RAV URL from
the configuration file $NES_HOME/WavCfg.conf, and checks
for the existence of the html file before enabling
the "Raw Alarm Viewer..." menu item on the "Actions" and
context (right-click) menus. It does not strip the URL
query or reference syntax before checking the file name.
PTSfc01889:
The wavsysconfig script prompts the WAV installer for the
name of the RAV html file, and supplies an incorrect
default value of "rav.html". The name of the RAV html file
(as shipped) is "Rav.html" (capital 'R').
PTSfc01891:
Fix editing of map node label.
PTSfc01892:
The wavsysconfig script was not correctly handling a null
value for the first prompt.
PTSfc01893:
Links to non-existent HP-external webpages and missing
titles on manpages.
Resolution:
PTSfc01492:
Added "Details" panel to more easily display all fields of
each alarm.
PTSfc01530:
The OEMF endecoder is changed to handle the alarm with
fields of ECS type STRING_REF properly.
PTSfc01723:
The machine's hostname is no longer used to determine the
server directory. wavnesinstall now checks for directories
named https-* in $NES_HOME other than https-admserv. If
there's only one, it assumes it is the WAV server
directory. If there are more than one, a menu is presented
to the user to specify the correct server directory.
PTSfc01733:
The update alarm fixed to have the AlarmId of the last
alarm of its Problem type.
PTSfc01885:
Removed a line from problmvw.ils that hides the admin
state column. A tgf defect caused problems when the column
is hidden with an ils file.
PTSfc01888:
URL query('?') or reference('#') syntax is now stripped
from the string supplied in $NES_HOME/WavCfg.conf (as
specified in the wavsysconfig script) before checking for
existence of the RAV html file. It is now possible for
the WAV installer to use this syntax in wavsysconfig to
affect how RAV is launched from WAV.
PTSfc01889:
The default value for the name of the RAV html file is
now "Rav.html", which matches the RAV html file name as
shipped.
PTSfc01891:
Fixed editing of map node label.
PTSfc01892:
The wavsysconfig script now correctly handles a null value
for the first prompt.
PTSfc01893:
Broken links are fixed. Manpages corrected.

Symptoms:
PHSS_28291:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28284:
PTSfc02414:
For alarms with probable cause set as
ProbableCauseLocalEnum 0, the problem presenter
displays "<undef>" (instead of as configured in
the guisadmin utility) as the probable cause value.
PHSS_27490:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_27483:
PTSfc02643:
For all TT operations in the GUIC the tr_client
binary will dump core after completing the
operations. This is just before the tr_client exits.
PTSfc02700:
The alarms on a7site MOC with alarm type = EXCEPTION
are dropped (marked invalid) at the logger level.
PHSS_26435:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26427:
PTSfc02595:
Metrica graph and report does not lauch if the
object's
a) fdn has space in it.
b) MOC is a sub string of another MOC.
c) Metrica equipment name is a sub string of
another equipment name.
PHSS_25804:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25798:
PTSfc02003: If the metrica equipment name has space in
it then the alarms sent by those equipment
names are dropped by the FMS metrica adapter
and the "Display graph" and "Display report"
operation in the GUIC for the corresponding
SA object fails.
PHSS_25332:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25303:
PTSfc02052:
There is a problem between the TMN Metrica integration
module and the PAS System for alarm collection. As soon as
the PAS side of the connection is restarted, the TMN
Metrica Integration Module maintains a connection and does
not release the port it connected on. Once the PAS
side restarts, it normally dynamically assigns a new port
number , but because we are still listening on the
previous port, we get no alarms. This looks like a problem
on the TMN Metrica Integration Module.
Expected result: We expect that HP must investigate the
Metrica Integration Module and fix the bug that causes the
software to maintain the connection when the PAS side has
been restarted. It should effectively also drop connection
when it sees that the PAS side is down and attempt to
reconnect every couple of minutes.
PHSS_24595:
PTSfc01886:
The problem occurs in a multisite installation where the
problem conditions on a trouble ticket come from multiple
FMS's and the problem conditions are owned by different
operators. When the trouble ticket is closed in the ARS
system some/none of the problem conditions are discharged.

The notification server dumps core with a returning a

PTSfc01997:
The HA startup fails as the msglog_server is slow to tartup
PTSfc01998:
ams_server core dump occurred on bdpd21h at 15:05:20 June
19, 2001. No core image was left, which is how the OV
CORBA code behaves. That is,it prints a stack trace to a
file and doesn't drop a core image unless the it's
compiled differently. It looked to be the first time it
cored on this machine.
The message log showed no ams_server message for this
system on this day.The syslog showed nothing interesting.
ovamsdb did its long-winded AMS DB validation without
complaint.bdpd21h is running a T14 ams_server.The core
dump occurred as a client was doing a check_access
operation. The check_access is taking its object and task
parameters and checking whether the task is
permitted for this object by checking the
permissions in the role-taskset-domain collection.
In the process of doing the check_access, the taskset
object with which the task is associated was activated
via the activate_impl code. The object activation
failed during either the access object construction or
the subsequent call object registration call to ORBPlus'
register_impl.
PTSfc02045:
Notifserver exits with SIGSEGV. The stack trace from
notifserver.core points to a failure in
RWSlistCollectablesIterator preceeded, by several stack
frames, by calls to DiscriminatorImpl::satisfy() and
ProxyPullSupplier::newEvent().

Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28283:
PTSfc02966:
When 'ovcorba_admin -deinit -force' or
'ovnsls_admin -deinit -force' command is executed,
the command fails since the file 'etc/opt/OVCORBA/.odbc.ini'
points to an incorrect ODBC driver version.
Same problem occurs for 'ovnsls_admin' script also.
This is applicable only from OVC/Assurance-1.02 Patch-4 and
later releases.
Resolution:
when ovcorba_admin script is executed as 'root', the ODBC
driver specified in the file '/etc/opt/OVCORBA/.odbc.ini'
is automatically changed to the correct version.
If the script is executed as 'ovdb', an appropriate error
message & the steps required to overcome the problem is
displayed to the user, if the ODBC driver used is not the
correct version. The reason is 'ovdb' does not permissions
to change the ODBC driver in the .odbc.ini file.
The above solution is also applicable for 'ovnsls_admin'
script.

PHSS_27482:
PTSfc02828:
Installation of an Oracle patch changes the
version number of the Oracle product.
The OVC/Assurance 1.02 with patch-4 scripts and
binaries check for a hard-coded Oracle version
number, either 8.1.7.0.0 or 8.0.6.0.0.
Resolution:
The first 3 characters in the Oracle version string
( example, 8.1.7 or 8.0.6 ) indicate the base
release of Oracle and the others indicate patch
levels. The OVC/Assurance scripts and binaries are
modified to check only for the first 3 significant
characters in the Oracle version string.

Consolidated Patch
PHSS_26426:
PTSfc02533:
This is an enhancement to support OVC/Assurance
with ORACLE 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00 and HP-UX 11.11.
Resolution:
A seperate configuration script is included to
modify changes in database creation scripts based
on versions of HP-UX and ORACLE. Additionaly a new
set of ODBC library has been included.
PTSfc02636:
The sed operation fails to match the pattern
because of additional blankspace between "export"
and "SHLIB_PATH"
Resolution:
Blank space is properly adjusted to match
necessary pattern in env.db
PTSfc02637:
ORACLE_BASE is hard coded to /opt/app/oracle
Resolution:
The env.db script check env to get ORACLE_BASE. If
it is not set it will take /opt/app/oracle as
ORACLE_BASE.
PTSfc02638:
FMS Oracle clients failed to contact FMS DB
Resolution:
Create a link to new oracle client library in OEMF
common directory.
PHSS_25333:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_25302:
PTSfc01996:
This coredump is happening because of the multiple eletion
of same connection by different connection handling hreads.
PTSfc01997:
msglog_server can take over five minutes to start. Since
this is longer than HA is willing to wait, HA scripts kill
the startup and fail-over. Data indicates that long start
time is related to the hint_timeout configured within the
ORBPlus configuration files. When a rogue process has
taken the hint port of the msglog_server, the hint_timeout
is causing very long delays.
PTSfc01998:
Believe AMS was victim of an unprotected critical
section. If three threads attempt to instantiate the same
access object simultaneously, the first one will succeed
while the other two will fail. When the other two delete
the redundant object, a pointer to info in the cache can
be invalidated by the second thread before the third hread
has finished with its access to it.
PTSfc02045:
Race condition in destruction of Proxy Pull Supplier where
contained filter object (DiscriminatorImpl) was being
referenced after it had been deleted.
Resolution:
PTSfc01996:
Added three variables for handling race conditions. The
connection deletion is now controlled by these variables.
PTSfc01997:
Have modified the configure script to set hint_timemout to
0 in iiop.cf, obj_loc_admin.cf, obj_locator.cf and
orb_admin.cf.Also modifed msglog_server with trace info in
case the startup time problem requires further
investigation.
PTSfc01998:
Have closed the critical section by moving the mutex
protection to a higher level routine. Pointers in the
cache cannot be updated or deleted until the higher level
routine has completed accessing the data.
PTSfc02045:
During the destruction of a Proxy Pull Supplier, set
internal pointer to filter object to NULL immediately
after it is destroyed.
