Symptoms:
PHNE_28826:
Partial porting of 10.20 patch PHNE_19299 to TOS
(PHNE_19299:)
1. CR JAGaa51688/SR 5003357038
netfmt exits on invalid TERM values, printing out the
following message:
"No such terminal"
PHNE_27893:
Partial porting of 10.20 patch PHNE_19299 to TOS
1. Console logging fails due to incorrect date handling
while creating/updating the console log options file.
2. (CR JAGaa19995/SR 1653240663)
"nettl -traceoff -e all" will also kill the console
logging netfmt process.
3. nettladm will give error when status is viewed.
PHNE_17572:
Port of PHNE_16692 to HP-UX 10.26 TOS
(PHNE_16692)
1. Tersely format -1 (one) cuts the mss field to only 3
characters.
2. Enhancement:
Tersely format -1 doesn't show the ACK counter and the
window size if the packet is only ACK without data
content.
3. netfmt date handling is not consistent with the libC
inferencing window.
(PHNE_15158)
No visible symptoms.
(PHNE_13837)
This patch is part of the 10.20 ACE 2 bundle which adds
networking enhancements to 10.20. New networking features
supported in ACE 2 include NFS Version 3.0, AutoFS,
and CacheFS.
(PHNE_13238)
nettladm will fail when using the gui.
(PHNE_10948)
Subsystem specific formatters will fail to format
trace/log files when the PHNE_9081 patch is installed.
This patch removes the large uid changes made in the
patch PHNE_9081.
(PHNE_9081)
The end user will not be able to use NetTL for
large number of users.
This cumulative patch also fixes time and date
problems.
(PHNE_8164)
The user will see a core-dump when the SNMP sub-
system is formatted using netfmt(1M).
The type of formatting used is "nice" formatting.
The ntl_write() function had an effect
of unblocking the blocked SIGCHLD signal.
Defect Description:
PHNE_28826:
Partial porting of 10.20 patch PHNE_19299 to TOS
(PHNE_19299:)
1. CR JAGaa51688/SR 5003357038
When the TERM environment variable is set to an invalid
value that does not exist in the TERMINFO database, or
if the TERMINFO database does not exist, netfmt exits
as it tries to set up the terminal.
Resolution:
1. netfmt is changed so that it does not exit but rather
turns off highlight mode silently and continues.
PHNE_27893:
1. Console logging fails due to the problems in the date
handling in the console log options file.
Resolution:
Code is modified to take care of the date handling problems
2. (JAGaa19995/SR 1653240663)
When the command nettl -traceoff -e all is run,
the netfmt console logging process, which is responsible
for displaying important log messages on the console,
is killed.
Resolution:
Turning trace-off for all subsystems will now not kill
the console logging netfmt process. This can be done
only when nettl is itself stopped.
3. nettladm gui interface was failing when viewing the
status of logging or tracing. This was due to the
changes made to the ObAM libraries.
Resolution:
Code has been modified to include changes in OBAM
libraries.
PHNE_17572:
Port of PHNE_16692 to HP-UX 10.26 TOS
(PHNE_16692)
1.When netfmt displays the mss during terse formatting,it is
done by treating the 2 byte mss as 2 separate characters
instead of one unsigned short integer.
2.When netfmt does terse formatting, it doesn't show the
ACK and WIN fields if the packet is only ACK without any
data.
3.Netfmt should be able to deal with both 2 figure and 4
figure year dates post 2000 (as it does pre 2000).The
inferencing window for the 2 figure dates should be
consistent with the libC inferencing window.
(PHNE_15158)
Remove fileset-level checkinstall script added
for ONC+ Networking Enhancements bundle to
avoid manufacturing conflicts.
(PHNE_13837)
New functionality to support networking features in
10.20.
(PHNE_13238)
nettladm gui interface was failing when viewing the status
of logging or tracing. This was due to the changes made
to the ObAM libraries.
(PHNE_10948)
This patch removes the large uid changes made
in the patch PHNE_9081. In the patch PHNE_9081,
as part of the large uid changes, one of the
structures in a header file (/usr/include/ntl.h)
has changed. This change in the header file
required that all subsystems having subsystem
specific formatters have to re-compile
their libraries. Since subsystem owners
will not re-compile their formatters,
PHNE_9081 patch has been recalled.
(PHNE_9081)
On investigation/review it was observed that the
large UID change made during the 10.20 release
had some inconsistencies.
This patch also fixes date and time related problems.
(PHNE_8164)
The core dump is seen when the user is uses the
/usr/sbin/netfmt to format tracing and logging
binary files belonging to the SNMP sub-system.
The signal interfaces used in the nettl_write()
was sigsetmask(), this is a non-standard
interface. Whereas in the application,
standard signal interface routines like
sigaction(), sigprocmask(), are being used.
This caused nettl_write() to unblock the
previously blocked SIGCHLD signal.

Defect Description:
PHKL_28858:
1. Scanners connected on the SCSI bus shows up as

type does not exist in the 'sctl' driver list,
scanners are not being claimed.

SR:1653290395 DTS:JAGaa47016
If a faulty disk sends NOT_READY sense key to SCSI. The
current SCSI policy is to retry the request until the disk
is ready. This results in a hang IO situation and prevents
the LVM mirroring from working.
Resolution:
LVM-related NOT_READY requests will be treated as
nonresponse from the disk and will therefore be failed back
for LVM to handle.

PHCO_28752:
1. Savecore does not create core files at syshi.
PHCO_17665:
If the dump area is beyond 2Gb on the physical disk, the
following error message results when savecore attempts to
read the dump:
savecore: seek failed <dump device>: <random error message>
savecore: could not open dump
Defect Description:
PHCO_28752:

Resolution:
1. Savecore has been modified to create core files at
syshi.
PHCO_17665:
When the size of a dump device is greater than 4Gb, savecore
cannot access the dump. The savecore command will fail

set to (0,0). This leads to a symbol stacking problem in
the read only copy when a layout by symbol coordinates is
attempted.
8606288376: An internal buffer overflow was resulting in a
corrupted pointer causing the core dump.
8606285768: ovw was dereferencing a NULL pointer.

interfaces as reported by SNMP during discovery. Hence,
for an admin-down interface that does not respond to ping,
Netmon sets the status as critical.
8606283445: OVW invokes xnmappmon when nmdemandpoll is
executed. xnmappmon is not handling white spaces in the

The "title" field is updated with a compound string formed
from the MIB expression and Collection Group Name. During
the export of trend data, this compound string is
truncated if it is longer than 40 characters. As a result,
the SELECT query for the scheduled report returns no

8606273023:ipmap does not remove gateway symbols and their
connections from the Network and Segment submaps, if the
interface connecting the gateway to the network is removed
(loses its IP address) or changed (gets a new IP address).
Resolution:
8606273023: ipmap was modified to perform the cleanup.
PHSS_28072:
8606249222: OV Events are the internal events for
communication between the OV NNM daemons. The definition
for these events could change between NNM versions and
hence the corresponding MIB file was not included in the
HP proprietary MIBs directory.
Resolution:
8606249222: The script
"$OV_CONTRIB/NNM/event/genTrapdEventsMIB.ovpl" has
been provided to read the "trapd.conf" file, extract the
OV Events and create the MIB file.
PHSS_27916:
8606270618: The ovw manual page was not updated for the
introduced command line option -pollXServer.
Resolution:
8606270618: Manual page of ovw is modified to reflect the
new ovw command line option -pollXServer.
8606275431: ovw executing in command line mode does not
unregister on an exit. Incorrect handling of exit by
ovuispmd for an unregistered ovw client.
Resolution:
8606275431: ovuispmd has been modified to handle the exit
of unregistered ovw clients.
8606271492: Some of the events contain the hostname of the
node in the second varbind. This was not documented in the
trapd.conf file.
Resolution:
8606271492: The information for events which contain
hostname of node in the second varbind is now updated
in the trapd.conf file.
8606271049: Incorrect description of the
OV_DataColl_Agent_Restart event for snmpCollect.
Resolution:
8606271049: Description for the event
OV_DataColl_Agent_Restart in trapd.conf has been corrected.
8606266330: The '-S' and '-R' options of netmon are
mutually exclusive.
Resolution:
8606266330: The '-S' option was introduced for some
specific Cisco routers which are now obsolete. Hence, the
option has been deprecated.
8606228341: Expression Guru of snmpCollect was not querying
all the variables on the agent and hence not verifying
before deciding the direct expressions.
Resolution:
8606228341: Code has been added to expression guru of
snmpCollect to query and verify all the related mib
variables in the percenterrors category before deciding the
direct expressions.
8606249375: One of the decoding routines in libovsnmp did
not handle a particular case.
Resolution:
8606249375: The decoding routine in libovsnmp is corrected.
8606276676: netmon man page had formatting errors.
Resolution:
8606276676: netmon man page has been corrected with the
right formatting.
8606241507: Incorrect description of Level 2 status in the
netmon manual page.
Resolution:
8606241507: netmon man page has been changed to provide
the right explanation for Level2 status.
8606274196: Incorrect handling of segment reduction by
netmon.
Resolution:
8606274196: netmon has been modified to handle secondary
version of network objects.
8606276402: When ovwdb is started with the "-n" option,
only a subset of the objects as specified with the "-n"
option is cached in memory. When a search is made on an
attribute only the cached objects were checked. If
there were objects in the database with that attribute
value but which were not present in the cache, ovwdb never
returned these objects to ovw.
Resolution:
8606276402: ovwdb has been modified to search the database
for non-cached objects.
8606270823: NNM is displaying incorrect error message text
when integrated with SMS.
Resolution:
8606270823: Error message text has been modified.
8606268260: Incorrect behavior of NNM , when integrated
with OVO, on Windows.
Resolution:
8606268260: Code has been modified to handle timestamp.
8606272237: NNM database and the table owner name were
being prefixed to the table name in all the generated
reports, leading to OVreporter not locating the tables.
This led to error in report generation.
Resolution:
8606272237: Report templates have been modified to remove
the database and the table owner name prefixes from the
table name.
PHSS_27866:
ovw, xnmevents or any gui application needs locale
specific resource file to show correct fonts. For Chinese,
Korean or any Asian character display, these locale
specific resource files are missing.
Resolution:
Locale specific resource files have been provided in the
patch. These files will get installed into $OV_NEW_CONF
directory and then later they will be copied under
directory /usr/lib/X11/$LANG/app-defaults/, where the GUI
applications look for it. $LANG refers to locale name in
which GUI applications are running. This patch provides
the resource files for ko_KR.eucKR, zh_CN.hp15CN, and
zh_TW.big5 locales.
PHSS_27835:
8606274432: The thread's stack limitation was causing the
mmonitor to incorrectly handle the local buffers defined in
libovsnmp.
Resolution:
8606274432: libovsnmp has been modified to allocate the
local buffers from the heap memory.
8606276721: A problem with the usage of the dictionary
resulted in the abnormal exit of the ECS engine.
Resolution:
8606276721: Code was modified to fix the problem in the
dictionary.
8606276687: An assumption was made as to the existence of
the file that has to be provided with the -mibFile option.
Resolution:
8606276687: Validated the existence of the file before
processing it.
PHSS_27746:
8606266737: A libovsnmp function was not handling improper
length values while receiving packets.
Resolution:
8606266737: The libovsnmp function was modified to handle
improper length values correctly.
8606266915: ovlauncher failed to convert non-C and
non-Japanese strings to UTF8.
Resoluion:
8606266915 : Code has been implemented to convert non-C and
non-Japanese strings to UTF8.
8606264074: The logic in ovw that determines the highest
submap in the IP Map hierarchy given a source object did not
handle Location submaps.
Resolution:
8606264074 : Code is added to handle Location Submaps when
an object appears in a Location Submap.
8606272817: SNMP response packet contained invalid
error_index value.
Resolution:
8606272817: Modified netmon to handle invalid SNMP
responses.
8606266361: No useful information provided in the message
for problem isolation.
Resolution:
8606266361: Useful information, to assist in problem
isolation provided as a part of the message.
8606267983: A function call returns incorrect value for the
event belonging to category IGNORE (Don't log or Display),
which further causes ovactiond to crash.
Resolution:
8606267983: Defective function was modified to return a
proper value for events belonging to IGNORE category.
8606254823: The number of records to be provided in a
configured report was being limited to a pre-configured
value of ten.
Resolution:
8606254823: Code has been modified to accept the value set
for the variable 'topn_count' in the file
$OV_ANALYSIS_CONF/global.conf and/or the value set for the
variable 'REPORT_TOPN' in the file request.properties
( nested in the $OV_REQUESTD_MAIN_PATH/requests
subdirectories ) associated with the configured report.
8606261353: The connections between the device and the other
end points of the connections are not preserved inside the
location container.
Resolution:
8606261353: ipmap's logic of handling deletion of objects
from a map was modified to preserve the connections inside
the location container.
8606269552: When building the SNMP packet header, the length
of the community name is assumed to be less than 128 bytes.
Resolution:
8606269552: Encoding the length of the community name in the
SNMP packet header has been modified to accept upto 255
bytes.
8606272791: ovtrapd man page was not updated for 64KB trap
enhancement.
Resolution:
8606272791: ovtrapd man page has been updated to include the
64KB trap enhancement.
8606264870: snmpCollect did not handle certain cases during
collection check which resulted in misleading error
messages.
Resolution:
8606264870: Code has been modified to handle those cases
which resulted in misleading error messages.
8606264777: The comparison routine was case sensitive.
Resolution:
8606264777: The comparison routine is modified to be case
insensitive.
8606270467: ovbackup.ovpl accepts a timeout value for
ovresume. This value is passed to all the scripts that
execute ovresume. There could be certain scripts nested in
the $OV_CONF/ovbackup directory that may fail to recognise
the timeout value passed as a parameter, leading to the
failure of that script.
Resolution:
8606270467: In the ovbackup.ovpl script, the script
nnm_checkpoint.ovpl has been isolated to receive the
ovresume timeout value, while the other scripts or binaries
placed in the subdirectories of $OV_CONF/ovbackup ( if any )
do not receive the value.
8606270556: Cannot find Release Notes or Manuals for non-C
and non-Japanese locales.
Resolution:
8606270556: Code has been modified to display the Release
Notes and Manuals in C locale on non-availability of the
requested locale.
8606271466: The menu item "Help->NNM->Patches and
updates" gives the erroneous product version information.
Resolution:
8606271466: Product version information file has been
updated.
8606267361: The buffer used to copy the entries in the file
was hardcoded to hold upto 150 entries.
Resolution:
8606267361: Allocated the buffer to hold all the entries in
the file.
8606246340: Insufficient buffer allocation for holding the
error message caused netmon to dump core instead of printing
the error message.
Resolution:
8606246340: The buffer was allocated suitably for holding
the error message. Hence netmon would now print the error
message.
PHSS_27643:
Double quotes in the ifAlias value for interfaces were not
handled in the report generation code.
Resolution:
The code has been modified to handle double quotes in the
ifAlias value.
PHSS_27640:
The deletion of a symbol (or a submap) involves removing
the symbol (or submap) information, the map object and the
object in the object database. These three operations do
not happen as one single atomic operation. Invalid symbols
and submaps are left behind if ovw aborts after the
deletion of the map object and the object in the object
database, but before the removal of the symbol (or submap)
information.
Resolution:
The verbose option of ovw -mapcount is enhanced to do a
listing of invalid symbols and submaps. A new option '-c'
is provided with ovw -mapcount to clean such invalid
symbols and submaps.
PHSS_27638:
http server process was not handling the bad requests
properly.
Resolution:
Code has been added for handling the bad requests properly.
PHSS_27625:
1.OVdrawNodes.pm was failing to encode XML-special
characters: <>'&". This was causing XML parsing errors.
2.This problem occurs when the server and the browser
are running in different locales.
Resolution:
1.Code has been changed in OVdrawNodes.pm to encode XML
special and non-printable characters.
2.Code is implemented for the server and the browser to
communicate with the UTF8 codeset.
PHSS_27623:
submap is not removed from the router symbol's submap
list. Selecting an event in xnmevents corresponding to the
same router causes NULL pointer access when previous
submap is dereferenced for the router symbol.
Resolution:
ovw is modified to check for NULL pointer dereferencing
before accessing any submap for the symbol's submap list.
PHSS_27616:
Memory allocated to a particular pointer was not freed
properly.
Resolution:
The allocated memory is now freed properly, at appropriate
position.
PHSS_27614:
ovactiond man page does not clearly explain what happens
in the case of multiple events occuring simultaneously.
Resolution:
The man page is updated with the information about
ovactiond behaviour in the case of multiple events
occuring simultaneously.
PHSS_27571:
Loading of MIBs with the -trapType option was incorrectly
handled by xnmloadmib under the Japanese locale.
Resolution:
Modified xnmloadmib to load the MIBs with the -trapType
option under the Japanese locale.

------------------------------------------------------------
1. Back up your system before installing a patch.
2. Login as root.
3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.
4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:
cd /tmp
sh PHSS_28877
5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the
patch:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \
-s /tmp/PHSS_28877.depot
By default swinstall will archive the original software in
/var/adm/sw/patch/PHSS_28877. If you do not wish to retain a
copy of the original software, you can create an empty file
named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE.
WARNING: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the
patch cannot be deinstalled. Please be careful
when using this feature.
It is recommended that you move the PHSS_28877.text file to
/var/adm/sw/patch for future reference.
To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the
tape drive, use the command:
dd if=/tmp/PHSS_28877.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k
Special Installation Instructions:
If there are any ovw sessions running on either the
Management Station or on any Management Consoles, these
sessions need to be closed. The "ovstop" command
should then be executed.
WARNING: the patch will not install if any
Network Node Manager processes are
detected.
NOTE: ovstart is NOT executed after the patch is loaded
You will need to manually run ovstart.
Also, in order to keep a history of the patches
installed on your system the post-install script
will attempt to copy this <patch_name>.text file
to /opt/OV/ReleaseNotes/patches directory. Please
make sure this file is in /tmp before installation.
========================================================
PHSS_28877:
As the file nnm_restore.ovpl under
$OV_CONF/ovbackup/restore/analytical directory is
customizable by an administrator, the patch installation
will not copy this file directly to the specified
directory. The new file will be placed under the
$OV_NEW_CONF/OVMIN/conf/ovbackup/restore/analytical
directory. If any customizations have been made to this
file, then the changes will need to be merged and the
resulting file should be placed in
$OV_CONF/ovbackup/restore/analytical.
If no changes have been made to the original file, simply
copy the nnm_restore.ovpl from $OV_NEW_CONF to $OV_CONF.
PHSS_27916:
This patch deliver changes to the file $OV_CONF/
$LANG/trapd.conf.
As the $OV_CONF/$LANG/trapd.conf file may have been
customized, this patch installs the new copy of trapd.conf
under the $OV_NEW_CONF directory. This ensures that the
active copy of trapd.conf under $OV_CONF directory is not
overwritten.
If the $OV_CONF/$LANG/trapd.conf file was not customized,
the $OV_CONF/$LANG/trapd.conf file can be overwritten with
the trapd.conf file under the $OV_NEW_CONF/OVEVENT-
MIN/conf/$LANG directory.
However any customizations done to the $OV_CONF/
$LANG/trapd.conf file will need to be merged with the
trapd.conf file under the $OV_NEW_CONF/OVEVENT-MIN/conf/
$LANG directory before a new copy can be installed as
$OV_CONF/$LANG/trapd.conf.
PHSS_27866:
This patch provides trapd.conf files for the following
locales: ko_KR.eucKR, zh_CN.hp15CN, and zh_TW.big5.
Since trapd.conf is a user modifiable configuration file,
the trapd.conf will not be copied to $OV_CONF/$LANG. After
the patch is installed you should create the required $LANG
directory in $OV_CONF and copy the corresponding trapd.conf
file from $OV_NEW_CONF/OVEVENT-MIN/conf/$LANG to
this newly created directory.
Furthermore, be aware that any customizations previously
made to the current trapd.conf file need to be merged from
the current trapd.conf file into the new
$OV_CONF/$LANG/trapd.conf file as else they will be lost.

infinite_duration, MaxEvents = 0,
RetainCondition = true, DeleteCondition =
"current_event managedObjectInstance =
retained_event managedObjectInstance".
The "expected" behaviour of this table node
is: it always keeps the "most recent event" of
each MOI (assuming that MOI is sufficient to
uniquely identify an object instance).
When two events (from the same MOI and the
second event has an earlier creation time - a
transit delay of 1s, say) pass the above table
node, the second event will be discarded by
the circuit with no trace! It is neither kept
in the table node, nor it comes out from the
output port of the table node.

Defect Description:
PHSS_28649:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
Resolution:
Cumulative Consolidated Patch
PHSS_28647:
PTSfc02896:
Dictionary containing improper values if
the value is the result of Union,
Intersection operations.
Resolution:
The problem was due to improper cleanup
of the ECDL interpreter memory space.
PTSfc03046:
Memory grows when 'find' bif is used.
Resolution:
This problem was due to creating an EV_AttrValue
which was not added to both Engine and
Interpreter collection.
PTSfc02911:
Dictionary raising exception NOTFOUND even
though the value is present in the
Dictionary.
Resolution:
The problem was due to creation of holes
in the hash table of the Dictionary
when older values were deleted.
PTSfc02525: Error loading datastore/factstore when
it contains an empty list.e.g a datastore
with entry ADD DATA('key',[]) fails
Resolution:
The parser used while loading
datastore/factstore had no rules to
to understand empty list.This has
now been added.
PTSfc02907: Erratic behaviour of global dictionary ,
resulting in 'Type Mismatch' error,
though logically proper data is expected.
Resolution:
The problem was due to improper cleanup
of the ECDL interpreter memory space.
PTSfc02316: ECS Designer is not able to load event
files and goes into a high cpu (99%)
utilisation state.
Resolution:
The problem is when loading event files with
time spacing between events ,the Designer
tends to go through as many loops to simulate
the time delay. This is not required during
loading of the event file and hence has been
disabled.
PHSS_26908:
PTSfc02730:
Unless node reverses the order of output events
Resolution:
The sequencing of events and their retrieval
order goes wrong when the events have same
create & arrival time and their sequencing is
done based on event id.New compare function has
been provided to take care of this anomaly.
PTSfc02660:
ECS designer fails to connect to non 0.0 display
number.
Resolution:
The problem was due to archiving of X-Windows
related libs into the Designer. This has been
changed to shared so that Designer can use
the latest X libs available on the deployed
machine.
PTSfc02568:
Pmd dumps core when pdu with erroneous oid is
sent.(oid length > 128 subidentifiers)
Resolution:
The Resolution is HP proprietary.
PHSS_25943:
PTSfc02210: ECS-Designer hangs when the event file
is loaded when time delay between events
is very large.
Resolution:
When the event file is loaded, the cleanup
function is called every minute in the
simulator, which causes the Designer to hang
if the delay is too large. A flag was
introduced which does no cleanup while
loading the event file.
PTSfc02167: If two events are sent to the input port
of the unless node and another event is
fed to the reset port, the following
error message is displayed "Error,
bad value type in memory".
Resolution:
This was due to improper deletion of
events in the unless node, which resulted
in memory corruption. This was resolved
by checking proper conditions.
PTSfc02151: ECS Designer gives Ovkey License Error on
HPUX-11.0 with the minimum patch level at
PHSS_22048 and PHCO_23770.
Resolution:
This problem was occuring because of
the way pthread library was linked with
libc library. libc was archive library
and pthread was shared. Hence the problem.
This problem was fixed by making system
libraries shared.
PTSfc01677: pmd dumps core in libECSS.sl at
EV_markTraceValue().
Resolution:
This problem was due to improper memory
access of dictionary contents. This was
fixed by proper error checking.
PTSfc01498: ECS NNM Configuration GUI does not close
windows when Cancel is performed.
Resolution:
The problem was traced to the Java AWT dialog
creation calls. The dialog boxes should have
been "modal", but were not.
PHSS_24497:
PTSfc01881: ecsd allows unauthorized access privilege to
the user.
Resolution:
ecsd authorization is tuned to prevent
unauthorized access.
PHSS_23622:
PTSfc01199: ecsmdt core dumps with Bus error
for the mdl file where duration
field alone is used.
Resolution:
Memory dump because of the illegal
ptr i.e, For the case of duration,
real data type was used in place
of duration data type. resulting
in conflict and hence the code dump
PTSfc01334: core dumps when trace and log mask
are set to -1
Resolution:
This error was due to cut and
paste problem. Here in place
of getting the FactStore name,
DataStore name was searched.
PTSfc01357: PMD fails to comeup next time when
it is terminated abnormally
Resolution:
This problem is a side-effect
of Multiple instancing support
for DM. Prior to this, the
socket was unlinked everytime
the pmd comes up. This was not
a problem as there was only
one pmd which used to come up
with ECS instance as always 1.
However, with multiple instancing,
multiple pmds may be started and
each pmd may come up with its own
ECS instance. This will lead to
problems when two pmds specify the
same ECS instance. As a workaround
the ECS stack was forced not to
unlink the socket.
The fixed code tries to do a connect
to the socket file and if it fails,
then there is no listner on the
socket; if it succeeds then there
is a listner (probably a pmd with
same ECS instance) and should not
allow the pmd to come up.
PTSfc01489: Program Samples C++ Code does not
compile on 11.0 and 10.20
Resolution:
This problem had occured because
C++ had Strong type checking than
C. further in 11.0 int32 is
typecasted to int .but while building
we used NNM portability layer where
int32 is long. Hence type mismatch
and compiler cribbs. On 11.0 we are
now using aCC rather CC. So by
redefining int32 to long we solve
this problem for type mismatch. Further
we interchange the way linking was
happening and hence the linker errors
were removed.
PTSfc01396: Engine kick back SNMP events.
Resolution :
Problem is with libova. Refer to
PTSfc00725 for further details.
DMCpe00065: we cannot use all ecsmgr options correctly
under Japanese locales. LANG=ja_JP.SJIS,
LANG=ja_JP.eucJP for HP-UX LANG=ja,
LANG=japanese, LANG=ja_JP.PCK for Solaris We
don't have this problem under LANG=C
environment.
Resolution:
A brief of what was done and reasons for
that:
1) removal >< brackets for certain
parameters of ecsmgr
2) the bug reported was because of the
string comparsion failure which was because
of the japanese version string compared with
english version string.
3) So removal of >< leaves the english
version intact, resulting in success of
strcmp and hence the removal of the bug
PHSS_22047:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_22045:
NSMbg02355: NNM pmd grows when events are stored in
in the ECS circuits(ex.table node).
Resolution:
This fix is reverted back since it
corrupts NNM database.The changes
made for the memory growth fix
has been removed.
PHSS_21825:
Consolidated Patch
PHSS_21820:
NSMfc17300: ECS engine is not correctly handling the
agent-addr field when the ip addresses
has a "0" as one of the network addresses
octets.
Resolution:
The engine code has been modified to
handle Ip address that has "0" as one
of the network addresses octets.
NSMbg02355: NNM pmd grows when events are stored in
in the ECS circuits(ex.table node).
Resolution:
The rqt structure sent by the pmd is
deleted once the event enters ECS stack
and a new rqt structure is created and
filled up when the event is output to
the pmd.
NSMbg02412: uuid's for new events generated by ECS are not
unique in case of solaris
Resolution: The ECS stack code has been changed to generate
uuid's in case of solaris.
NSMbg02297: A reset is sent to a combine node and events
that should have been discarded appear at the
output on subsequent operations instead. The
circuit policy and parameters are all set so
that this shouldn't happen.
Resolution:
The combine node is modified so that all the
events in the node before reset are not
considered for combining.
PHSS_19621:
4701-432070: If DM TMN Manager Platform and ECS for DM is
installed, then ECS does not route some of the
events to the DM.
Resolution:
ECS stack has been modified to work with the DM
TMN Manager Platform (both 5.03 and 6.0
releases). Additionally in the case of DM TMN
Manager Platform 5.03 release, the ECS stack
has been modified to ignore the existence of
NNM as ECS3.0 does not support versions of NNM
less than NNM6.0.
NSMbg00228 : The DM TMN release 6.0 supports multiple
instancing. However the ECS engine library
loaded by the pmd, did not support multiple
instancing.
Resolution:
The ECS engine library loaded by the pmd now
supports multiple instancing. To use this
feature, the ECS stack must have the following
option in the lrf file for pmd.
-SECSS;i<instance no>
where <instance no> is the instance number of
the ECS stack which must be loaded by that
particular instance of pmd. If this option is
not specified, the default instance number of 1
is used by the ECS stack.
NSMbg00198 : When multiple users are using the ECS Designer,
and one user exits the designer, the default
circuits copied in the modules directory are
removed and so the other users face a problem
during simulation/compilation.
Resolution:
The default circuits, once copied into the
modules directory, are not removed when the
Designer window is closed.
NSMbg00258 : When you have a field in the Configuration GUI
that is a string, and you wish to change it to
an integer. The GUI will try to automatically
insert "'s and the field again becomes a
string.
Resolution:
The java file has been changed so that the
config GUI field that is a string can be
&nbs
