i would suggest contacting the police and examing the contract with the
consultant/contractor with your legal team. chances are there are some
violations here. then apprise the consultant of their legal standing,
which will possibly be in a pan of hot water between a rock and a hard
place given their actions.
badmouthing the person by name is probably not wise, as it could be taken
to court as defamation of character or something related unless you prove
that this person was, in fact, doing these things.
good luck. this is one of every company's worst fear, i think.
