Thanks for the question. I have not heard of any situations similar to the
one you describe - I recommend contacting ISS Customer Support
(supportiss.net) for assistance with this. If they've heard of a similar
situation they should be able to suggest a workaround, and if not they can
create an issue so that it will be further investigated.

Has anyone else who is using ISS Internet Scanner (and having IRIX
systems!) found that some IRIX inetd services hang after a scan?

We're using a subset of the "Level 4 - moderately skilled attack"
unix scan in this instance -- supposedly not a DOS attack -- and even
a 176-CPU 44GB memory IRIX 6.5.11 system was hosed.

It also took out an ethernet-to-tokenring bridge, which no actual attack or
accidental
traffic storm in my memory has managed to do.
