Some other interesting wrinkles that came to my (twisted) mind:
1)
Capellas promised to "turn around the company" or quit.
Seems he did neither. Instead he trimmed it for sale to HP, then took a
position at HP.
Breach of trust, at least in how I see it. Possible fraud?
2)
So this is the REAL explanation for the Alpha fiasco. HP did not want
Alpha. Already have RISC chip and have a pre-existing deal with Intel for
Itanium..
So, I wonder if the USA FTC will review the actions of Intel, HP and Compaq?
It is obvious that HP had a hand in this long ago..
3)
And on the positive side it seems that Compaq was being nice to their
employees and landing them a job at Intel, rather than HP letting them go..
