Hi all,
OK, now that the first bugs of 2.4.10. are out, we can go on ;-) In fact, I
suspect that I still see the same bug as with the beginning of the 2.4's. I
miss my PCI_QUIRKS setting. The kernel did OK for about an hour or two (with
netscape ;-), but then all of a sudden my whole machine freezed. No ping,
nothing.
As I always had some trouble with the network (3c905B) under heavy load, I
found out that only PCI_QUIRKS fixes it. But this doesn't exist under 2.4
anymore. So after 2 hours of mp3s over my network, the computer hung. Just
like this.
Under a 2.2 I can go on for hours (never tried days, though). Only the
X-server hangs from time to time. But with a rlogin this can be fixed. So, is
it possible to get back the PCI_QUIRKS or should it be already in the kernel?
greets
ineiti
