    Hello,
I've been slightly involved in the discussion of the X server being slow
to start with RH 7.1. Well, now I'm noticing something more
troublesome. My ALPHA has 2 667 processors, with 2 GB RAM.

Currently there is a process running on it that is taking 1167 MB of the
RAM. Even though there is still alot more RAM and another processor,
the machine is very slow to respond, and the other processor seems to be
running slower then normal. Michal mentioned that the installed kernel
was probably causing the problem. I am running 2.4.9, is the problem
still present there? I won't be able to upgrade to 2.4.10 until Monday,
although I'm a little afraid of 2.4.10 with all of the reports of
    bugs...
    Ken
