Here are a couple, spoken by a non-expert:
Are you sure the systems are entirely identical in the
installed packages? How about doing a "rpm -qa | sort"
on both systems and comparing the results?
When you do that 'rpm' command, is there _no_ response
at all? Any text it prints back might be useful.
Also, it might be useful to do a "rpm -Va" on both
systems and compare the results.
