I have had a problem with redhat 7.3 and now 8 that
causes the machine to hang totally. The machine hangs
especially fast when I am running emacs. It seems to
be associated with the mouse. I can start emacs and
work (as long as I dont use the mouse) and the machine
will not hang. As soon as I use the mouse the machine
hangs (within 30 seconds) Also standard x things such
as different gui configurators that come with redhat
will cause the machine to hang after about 10-15
minutes use. I have changed the mouse several times
including trying a ps2 and usb and various
configurations and still have the same outcome. I am
running a p3/933. The only card is a S3 trio64 video
card. /var/log/messages gives no indication of any
thing gone awry. I have installed from same disks on
several other other machines (different hardware) with
no problems.

Someone please help!!!!
