IIRC DAC960 is supported by Linux if it has a firmware version 2.73 or
higher. Some controller models are upgradable and some not. Search in
archives. http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/ should have some information
but Leonard Zubkoff, who wrote that driver, unfortunately died in
a helicopter crash.
Qlogic 1020 should be ok although there were some "interesting points"
with this controller too. People who are actually using it should
know better about possible quirks.
