OpenOffice for Alpha is present in Debian Unstable. I know the word
processor works fine; I haven't tried the spreadsheet. Maybe get the
Debian sources and build from those? I am not sure if you would have
any of the Debian build system on Redhat so it could still prove to be a
mission to compile.
