Hi all,
This is just a quick note saying that the SubDomain kernel module,
FormatGuard, and the latest StackGuard patches and code has been made
available publicly.
Our web people are working on updating the site with all of the new
information, but you can get all the files from the following link:
http://www.immunix.org:8080/ImmunixOS/7.0-beta/i386/extras/
There will be a more detailed press release and announcement later, just
thought you all would like to hear of this a bit sooner.
Here's the directory listing, and what each file is for:
canary-2.2.17.diff - The kernel patch for 2.2.17
that enables you to compile
the kernel with the StackGuard
compiler.
canary-2.4.0-test8.diff - The kernel patch for
2.4.0-test8 that enables you
to compile the kernel with the
StackGuard compiler. Will
also work with the test9, and
test10 kernels.
egcs-1.1.2-StackGuard-lite.patch - The patch to egcs for the
StackGuard-lite version.
egcs-1.1.2-StackGuard-stout.patch - The patch to egcs for the
StackGuard-stout version.
glibc-2.1.94-StackGuard.patch - The patch to glibc for
StackGuard and FormatGuard.
This is the FormatGuard
package.
open-sales-1.0.2-2_StackGuard.i386.rpm - the open-sales add on package
compiled with StackGuard and
FormatGuard.
specedit - script to modify a rpm .spec
file to build with the
StackGuard compiler and
FormatGuard libraries. This
is what we used to build
Immunix 7.0
subdomain-1.0.tar.gz - The SubDomain source code,
kernel patch for 2.2.17,
documentation, and a few
utilities that are useful in
creating SubDomain profiles.
subdomain_example_profiles/httpd.profile - an example SubDomain
profile for apache
Also the SubDomain parser is located at:
http://www.immunix.org:8080/ImmunixOS/7.0-beta/i386/RedHat/RPMS/subdomain_parser-1.0-6.i386.rpm
Note, the SubDomain parser (and 1 of the SubDomain utility perl scripts)
is released under the Immunix License, which is located at:
http://www.immunix.org/ImmunixOS/7.0-beta/i386/LICENSE.Immunix
All of the other code is released under the GPL.
I'm also sorry that we can't put the .iso image of the Immunix 7.0 cd up
on our web site as our export license hasn't been granted yet from the
U.S. Government. If you're at Comdex this week, be sure to go by the
WireX booth and get a free CD from the people there.
If anyone has any questions about any of the above files, feel free to
ask me directly, or on the stackguard mailing list.
thanks,
greg k-h
