I think you should be more specific. What did you do, what was the
result, how did it differ from what you expected ?

Did you do something like "make menuconfig; make bzImage" ?
Did you get a compile error (worth quoting) or a compiled but
defective kernel ? Did you see "-fno-canary-all-functions" appear
in the make output ?
