Hello,
I am trying to compile php, if only for the
easter_date function (i.e.: --enable-calender or so);
so I grabbed php-4.2.2-10.src.rpm from the RedHat
Rawhide 1.0 distro (use a rpmfind.net mirror near
you).
It appears that this version or rpm is intended for
use with a little more 'modern' setup (i.e.: db4,
gcc-java >= 3.2 (implied by db4), apache 2.0.x, etc)
but I didn't give up.
I edited the spec file a bit and removed the dB stuff
I didn't need, changed the db4 dependency to db3,
changed the httpd dependency to apache, etc, etc.
The only thing that was really missing was
libstdc++-devel.
But you guess, things don't work yet. Someplace after
the configuring stage things goes wrong; so the
question is:
Who sees a way to or can compile php-4.2.2-10.src.rpm?
Help would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Udo
