|As i have said numerous times here, I don't care about the "/var/qmail"
|issue. The issue is that we probably never will see qmail, djbdns,
ucspi-tcp
|and friends in the Mandrake non commercial distro because of the "DJB
|licence". This, my friend is too sad...
Yes, but during year Netscape came with every mandrake distro !
People trace the limit where it is convienient.
The only exception being RMS :-)
|As Vincent Danen described, if Mandrake can't patch it and/or rearrange the
|install locations, it's not free.
It is not free enough (in their point of view), which is somehow comercial
as well.
It do believe he way is better. However I am not using runit. It is my
choice.
I am happy to learn that Mandrake is going to release the package as
commercial and not ignore them.
I can understand their policy, commercial is fine with me.
|Hell, I think even "echo "gcc %{optflags}" > conf-cc violates the "DJB
|licence". You can't change the queue split value like: echo "53" >
conf-split
|either... Or echo "/usr/local/qmail" > conf-qmail. And so on... Just
because
|there are these conf-* files it doesn't mean you are allowed to use them
for
|packaging, to conform to the LSB or FHS standards... This was discussed on
|the *very* long thread on the BSD list... Think about it..., isn't this
plain
|stubborn silly stupidity or what?
Mr Bernstein value security. I am SURE that if Mandrake provide Qmail, it
will be AS SECURE AS compiling it myself.
I appreciate this security offered by the licence.
And effectively he is stubborn, RMS as well, people with a goal are often
stubborn.
It is part of their strenght.
You can not will to change the world and bend as soon as someone complain !!
