Have any of you guys used LIDS with a 2.4 kernel before? I'm very
impressed with the "theoretical" capabilities of it, and likewise with
the config tools. It looks like this could be my kind of kernel. =)
Unfortunately, I've had to regenerate a lot of the LIDS patch to work
with the Mandrake kernel (using 2.4.16 from cooker). I've got it in
make modules right now, so it compiles at least (had some fun with
bzImage when some of the fs assumptions had been changed due to the
    XFS patches).

Anyways, I'm thinking of making the patch available. I think some of
the developers think it too intrusive to make it an "official" kernel
(and I agree, it is intrusive, and definately not for the "faint of
heart" or those who don't really know their system). I do think that
the server admins out there will *love* it.

Now, in the hopes that I haven't regenerated the patches and rewrote
small parts incorrectly, I will probably make the patch I used
available along with an rpm to install the lids admin tools, and a
writeup on using/building/configuring LIDS on MandrakeSecure in the
    next little while.

If you see me running 2.4.16-10mdklids for a decent uptime, then
    you'll know I've succeeded. =)

But, mainly, I'm curious if anyone has used LIDS for any length of
time. When I was reviewing Engarde a few months back, I played with
it a little bit because Engarde was using LIDS in their kernel.
    Anyone else with any experience?

For those interested, or for those who don't really know much about
LIDS, the website is at http://www.lids.org/.
