When trying to apply the recently released update to Squid:
49845545fb8c7030e93a10a83140a95d 7.1/RPMS/squid-2.4.STABLE4-1.2mdk.i586.rpm
on my Mandrake 7.1 system I receieve the following dependency failures:
[root
hostname updates]# rpm -Uvh squid-2.4.STABLE4-1.2mdk.i586.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
liblber.so.1 is needed by squid-2.4.STABLE4-1.2mdk
libldap.so.1 is needed by squid-2.4.STABLE4-1.2mdk
I do currently have Squid in use on this system and it works fine without
these libs now.
Are these libs really required in order for this new package to work? Does
anyone else encounter this problem when attempting to install the new
package?
I'm just wondering if I can --nodeps this.. or if I can expect an updated
package which addresses this issue.
Either that or I actually need to install LDAP packages on my system for
this to work (additional software not needed before - yuck).
Thanks for any help!
