I'm also waiting for some comments about postfix...

Well, if you will read about my test rules, I decided to test only RPM.
However, we know about Qmail policy... I think I can have a test for
Qmail’s rpms from rpmhelp.net. I have some tests with qmail rpm but on
different machine. If I’ll start compiling these packages, I’ll in a BIG trouble: every mail
server may have so MANY options and so many options... So I decided to use
what (I think) the most people use: the default rpm from distribution. If
they don’t have any rpm in Mandrake Cd, I think they will compile Qmail
(because this guys know about security and about speed and they want to
    sleep well ;o).

U’re right, but THAT is a different benchmark. I’m thinking about that.
For Postfix, I can say that the performances are worse (!!!) using Maildir
instead of mailbox and procmail. Strange but true.

I also have some experience with mail antivirus. For now I can say that
the first antivirus tested by me is slowing the mail server’s speed by 50%
or more. When I’ll have enough experience with at least 2 antivirus products, I’ll
    publish my findings.
I’m not sure I want to subscribe ti the Postfix list (I already have SO
MANY lists to read). However, if I’ll do that, I’ll have to subscribe to
Sendmail and Qmail lists (just to be right). I think this test is Mandrake
related more than Sendmail, Qmail, Postfix related. I am sure that Postfix
(or mail, sendmail) will ask me to recompile the servers and try again
these tests. I’m not sure I have time for this. The reason I’ve started this project is that I couldn’t fin any place on
Internet with this kind benchmarks. We will se if it is interesting enough
to invest more time in it.
    Best regards,
