Check out http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/FormattingFloppyDisks .
Haven't done it myself, but I understand it can be tricky to get a
reliably formatted disk. If you have a CD burner and are using 9.2 or
later, another option is to use mkrescue with the --iso option and burn
the image to a CD.
