Eventually the uninstall exited:
error: %preun(kernel-184.108.40.206mdk-1-1mdk) scriptlet failed, exit status 0
/boot has no kernel, initrd or vmlinuz for .12, and there is no stanza in
lilo.conf, yet rpm -qa|grep kernel says it is still there.
