As soon as we know, you will know. I'm trying to find this out myself.
Right now, I'm assuming an 18mos lifecycle, just as with previous
releases. I assume this because we've not been told differently,
however this may change due to the yearly release cycle now. It's
possible that desktop support may be 18mos with the extended 6mos base
beyond that, or it could be 18mos of support for the whole thing. It
may even be 2 years.
I wish I could give you something concrete, but I'd make any assumptions
based on the typical lifetime cycle; 12mos desktop + 6mos base.
Oh, and Bob, if you're planning on using LE2005 for your servers because
2006 is "missing stuff" (which it isn't) then you'll find when 2007 is
out and you haven't upgraded, and 2007 is also "missing stuff" you may
need to find someone to build your updates for you. In which case you'd
be better off using Corporate Server with has lots of "stuff" and is
also supported for 5 years.
