Here is an official answer from SuSE why Squid 2.4 packages
are not updated on a 7.3 system:

Personally, I don't accept that position. What's the sense in
having a tool like YOU if experienced users have to do it by
hand. I am quite glad you took your time to program fou4s and
offer it here.
