A good example of a clean system is the SuSE evaluation-live-cd.
Pretty convenient thingy, I must say, and very much functional,
too (especially the latest, 8.2 - has all one usually needs,
like browsers, Openoffice etc)... Can most probably be used for
security checkups, too...
