for SuSE < 9.0. Kernel updates need special attention and care to make
sure everything will work afterwards. I used to download and install
kernel updates manually for my SuSE 8.0 systems.

--> You should have received the login data when buying the SLES
distribution. Is there any specific reason you run SLES 8.0 instead of
SuSE (Pro) 8.0 ? I don't know SLES very well and I think you have to
buy the maintainance support for this product separately. You sure can
find more about it on the SuSE website.
