This is a WinNT/2K issue. WinNT/2K prefer to use MSRPC for share listing.
Correct me if I'm wrong but your server does not support share enumeration
over MSRPC.
When you fail the MSRPC share enumeration, WinNT/2K will fall back on the
older NetShareEnum and will specify a 5 second timeout in the one of the
fields. Even though you respond immediately, Windoze code literaly dozes for
those 5 seconds in wait for your response.
So the flashlight goes on in Explorer and you wait for 5 seconds.
The only way to "fix" this is to support MSRPC for share listings.
