hi,
I'm using "smbmount" to access Windows share from Linux boxes, but I'm concerned that I could not find "soft mount" option in the manual page. I don't want CIFS client to wait forever if CIFS server is down, and I hope the CIFS file accesses could timeout, e.g., abort after getting no response for 30 seconds. This is available for NFS using "mount -o soft" option. Does CIFS/smbmount support same functionality in anyway ?
BTW I can't put smbfs config to /etc/fstab since the smbmount needs to be done in Linux run time instead of boot time.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
