    COM and DCOM can run on any platform. MTS and COM+ run on Windows NT and
    2000. COM+ is, essentially, an extension of MTS with new functionality.

    When I say MTS and COM+ are NT & 2000, that means for serving the COM and
    COM+ components. The clients of the components can be on any Win95+

    There's a lot more to the differences than just what platforms support them,
    though. MTS and COM+ specifically, are designed to allow a central point for
    components and to support transactional functionality. There's a lot more to
    it than I could answer in a single e-mail.
