If I understand your question, you need to use the CLCCTX flags in your
call to CoCreateInstance to disallow local activation if you want to
activate remotely. By default, COM will use the closest available server
for a CLSID.

I've created a DCOM .EXE that I would like to be able to selectively
launch
on either the local or specific remote machines. I'm using C++ with
MFC.
It appears that the Server launches locally regardless of my DCOMCNFG
settings. Does anyone know if what I'm trying to do is even possible?
