Hi Amar,
U could use regedt32.exe to check for access permissions on the particular
registry key u r mentioning. Try granting full control to everybody and then
selectively distilling each.
As for the service exe, if it is on an NTFS volume u should get a separate
Security tab. If not, then u don't have the necessary rights. A simple way
to ascertain that u indeed have admin rights is to try to manipulate
something (changing passwords etc.) in User Manager. U may also check for
the different rights in User Manager and see that they haven't been changed
with.

Hi Amar,
The problem is surely of insufficient rights. Check out the
following :
1. U may be logging in as the domain administrator, but maybe the domain
admin doesn't have local admin rights.
2. The registry key that SC uses to locate the service configuration (
HKLM\System\CurrentContorolSet\Services ) doesn't grant u access
permissions. U may check these thru regedt32.exe .
3. The actual NT service executable doesn't grant u access permissions. Try
taking ownership of this file as an administrator.
Hope this helps.

I guess you do not have local admin privileges to start the service.
Try granting yourself the same.

Subject: Unable to Start NTService from control panel
Hi all,
I have a NTService registered with SC.EXE utility perfectly.
When I try to start this service from control panel it throws error: "Can
not start service on local computer Error5: Access is denied."
I am nither able to debug this service nor able to trace the point of error
because plane exe version run fine as normal exe and error is outside the
preview of service's code.
I suppose Service Control Manager is culprit for this looking this service
details in registry.
To my knowledge the error is reproduced on every machine.
Thanks in advance.
Amar.
